anybody else waiting on notification of term changes?

I got accepted into summer, hoping to start in the fall. The only problem for me is that my preview is May 12-13 so hopefully I’ll know before then.

oh my! yeah, you should definitely find out soon! When did you request it, and what was your reasoning?

well the date for the tuition deposit for the other schools I got into are due by may 1st and I have still not heard from UF yet… :frowning: I know last year’s students heard on april 29 so I will wait to pay my tuition deposit until tomorrow. Seriously, I’m very tired of waiting now and I hope we find out tomorrow just like last yr’s students otherwise I’ll be very disappointed

All of you waiting for the term change, just keep checking your status page online and see if the term has changed. Last year, the term changed on the status page a day or two before my daughter got an email saying the term had been changed.

I know, I hope it’s soon. Gatorfan, are you for sure going to UF because I got an email sometime in March telling me not to pay the deposit on May 1st since we had been admitted into the spring term.

And thanks tzais, I just hope this year is a repeat of the same thing.

It didn’t change so for now, I’m going to the University of South Florida for the Fall and pay my 200 over there. :/

Mine didn’t change either! So you’re thinking if it doesn’t change by Saturday you’re going to USF? I got accepted there to for fall, I just can’t imagine going anywhere else. What’s making you go to USF instead of waiting until Spring?

I will pay the admissions deposit for USF and wait one more week on UF but if UF decides to wait even longer on our term change request, then I’ll go to USF because I need to start thinking about housing and preview dates. I won’t even transfer to UF for the spring because it would be just pointless getting used to one college and then moving to another college and trying to get used to a whole new different system.

Thats so sad to hear, gatorfan23. i really hope that UF change it soon because you seem so set on UF. Good luck!!!

i talked to them today and they said mid-late may they would be notifying people of term changes.

well, i hope we all get them! i’m sure they’ll tell the people who are switching into the summer or might have to stay in summer will probably get their notifications first. I’m so anxious!

I don’t understand how they are notifying people. They tell students that they will be notifying us in mid-May but yet most of my friends already received a response. My dad refuses to help me pay off my student loans unless I go in the Fall because he thinks going in the summer is completely pointless (which I disagree). My preview is May 12-13 so I’m just going to change the Preview date to a Fall one.

^ I am in the same situation, I hate the Summer Loans! I will change my Preview as soon as I know their decision for my term change.

Ana, most of your friends have already found out?? I haven’t heard of anyone I know personally that got theirs. When did your friends find out? And how bad are the loans

The first (of my friends) found out on the 16th; the rest have periodically received e-mails since then. My financial aid package consisted of Bright Futures and loans. My dad received a full scholarship when he went to college so all the loans are bothering him. For that reason, he insists I get a term change or he won’t help me pay off loans.

I’m curious how everyone put in a request for a term change. I called Office of Admissions on March 29th to learn how to put in a request, and they told me to e-mail the Office of Admissions. On the same day, a few hours after sending a message to freshman@admissions.ufl.edu I got a response:

Thanks for your message and congratulations on your acceptance. We have added your name to the list of students requesting a change of term for their admission to Fall 2010.

Term change requests will be considered sometime after May 1st when we are able to determine space in the various terms based on confirmation of acceptance of admission decisions. Hopefully we will be able to give you a decision on your request by mid to late May, but we can’t make any promises at this point.

I wish we could give you a decision sooner, but it is not possible until we determine available space. Until that time, you will need to plan to attend and enroll in the term you were offered admission.

Please understand that a change in term of enrollment may affect your housing options.

If you decide you no longer wish to have a term change, please let us know. Once a term change is approved, we may not be able to change your admission back to your original admitted term.

Again, congratulations on your acceptance, welcome to the Gator family and GO Gators!

I received the same notification. I also went to the school over my spring break and spoke to the admissions director in person, and she specifically said we wouldn’t know until after May 1st, considering that today is the 3rd and they will finally have a count of how many got in, they may be notifying us soon.

If they don’t let us know by May 12th (the day before the first summer B preview begins), then it means we didn’t get it. So from now on till next wednesday.

Aww, I fell so bad hearing this :(. I really hope you guys get a term change because you all seem to have a strong desire of going to UF. Good luck!!!

How do you guys check your status? Through the regular ISIS interface or through the admissions page?
