Wow, just sent off a tired kid: I think he stayed up too late Thursday night studying for his ap test Friday and then last night studying for chem today and... just wow! he was sleepy. Luckily, I kind of like his match schools better than his reach ones [he likes a balanced life, I'll leave it at that] and so I'm not too nervous about the results.
He was too tired to take the third one he had scheduled today - math IIc - and I think only Georgetown on his list still requires three SAT IIs so there went Georgetown! [And on such small matters such large decisions are made!]

Heidi, S2 just left for the SAT I for his first forage into that wild country. He went to bed yesterday at 6:00 p.m. and slept until 2:00 a.m. and is pretty pleased with himself that he got 8 hours of sleep! I am thankful he was not doing AP's this week!!! Best wishes to all the SAT takers!

D should be returning home soon from SAT2 US History. Fairly exhausted after 3 APs this week.

She had signed up to take the SAT today back before she got her March scores, so she changed today to SAT2, but only one exam. She'll take another 2 SAT2s in June.

I'm hoping she sleeps in tomorrow. She's also looking forward to her classes being easier til the end of school (since they were preparing for the AP, now they get to "slack off").

Good luck to all testtakers of all varieties of tests!

My D was exhausted after 3 AP this week, a golf match, tests in 2 classes, and a choir concert. Before leaving this AM, she decided to take 2 SAT II (Math 2c and French) rather than the 3 she had originally planned. She didn't care for her performance on the AP US History, so is not taking that SAT II today. I just DON'T understand why these kids have to be repetitively tested for these colleges. It just seems to me that a score on EITHER the SAT II Subject test OR the AP test should suffice. Why they take both is beyond me...except that the College Board administers (and profits from) both. I'm sure they wouldn't want to shoot their cash cow.

S only had 1 AP this week, but it was a hard one and it was yesterday, so he had decided to bag the SAT IIs (he hadn't prepared at all). Yesterday I asked him to consider showing up for one of them. He went and took Math I and said it was fairly easy. I know the curve is harsh, and he will take IIC and Lit in June after reviewing a little bit. At least all the May money wasn't wasted!

unfortunately, YES. After two ap's this week, and another one on Monday, I'm surprised the grey matter still functions, and that the neurons haven't shut down. Fortunately, he only signed up for one test -- practice for the ap next week.

Son was in the same position this week, 4 APs, English-Calc BC-Stats-Euro and then 3 more next week. So instead of today, which is also PROM (just picked up his tux), we signed him up for SAT IIs in June.

I just thought he would be too tired, and he is, so the June date was better for us. I know he is enjoying all his pre-prom stuff this morning/afternoon much better than sitting and taking ANOTHER TEST........

My little kitten looks very handsome in his tux, so grownup.....HA if only his date knew!!!

Kat

My S took 2 SAT IIs -- had to take them at a school 30 minutes away and hard to find. He's so tired from AP exams, music stuff, and sports that he almost -- but not quite -- allowed me to drive him there so he could sleep a few extra minutes. One prom is next weekend and girlfriend's prom is right before June SATs -- HELP! I feel badly about all the testing for these kids who are so active in everything. I couldn't handle it all.

Heidi--have S take the third SAT 2 in the fall. He can use that same test date to retake one of the SAT 2s that he took in May/June and wasn't happy with his score.
