Anybody get off the wait list and get in to Georgia Tech?
In past years, the first kids made it off after the May 1 deadline (so, tomorrow would be the first business day) and then it’s complete by June 1.
I called their admissions office to get some kind of inquiry about the waitlist situation and they told me that they did not have any openings as of today so they did not give any offers to those on the waitlist yet. They will monitor the number of students that deposited and those who will actually attend and assess whether or not to start pulling kids by the end of this week. Not so sure about this news :\
@msnaut that doesn’t sound very good
@stressed4lyfe yeah, I dont know how to feel honestly. Where did you commit?
@msnaut I committed to UCSD but I didnt get into the major I wanted
Looks like bad news. Well there still is a chance of at least some people getting off the list…pretty sure the number is going to be really small though…
I know of a student that was admitted off the waitlist on Monday. He will have to start in June. It happened with a phone call from GT.
start in june? @GAarch explain please
@AC15786 Summer session most likely.
Yes, the summer session.
Oh okay…so anyone received a rejection yet?
You can’t receive a rejection… It’s either you receive an acceptance or you wait until June 1st to hear that the waiting list is now closed.
hey guys has anyone heard from GT ? …
I am pretty sure they have turned to the waitlist this year else the waitlist offer would be closed by now!
If anyone gets in,please lemme know
The waitlist is now closed sadly. Good luck to everyone in their future endeavors!
Did anyone get offered an extended waitlist? My son got offered yet we know nothing about it
My son got the offer as well. Nothing like dragging it out another 2 months! Ugh…
We just found out today that our son got on the extended wait list.
utterly ridiculous
an extended wait list? you find out in August when some kid doesn’t show for Fall term
talk about out of control
who would want to go at that point?
its Tech, geeky Tech, not Penn or Yale
It is ridiculous. But they’re in the driver’s seat, and that’s where my son wants to go. We do have a back-up school and they have offered him a great scholarship. As a parent, it makes me want to take my money elsewhere.
