Not a transfer, but last year my D chose Duke over Cal, in state. She thought it would be less intense. We thought it would offer a different kind of diversity. I wish that wasn’t the case, as financially, can’t beat Cal in state.

I have a friend who chose UC Davis over Berkeley last years because of Berkeley’s social atmosphere. She wanted somewhere a little more laid back, yet still serious in terms of academics. She seems to be happy with her choice after spending a year there now.

Chose UCSD over Berkeley. I’m planning on going to Med School after my B.A., and being pre-med at Berkeley isn’t the atmosphere I’m comfortable with.

“And no, the cost isn’t really an issue because I’m an international student although I’ve lived in CA for a long time. The difference in price isn’t much”
bc is still $10k more expensive than cal and lets not talk abt the accommodation. i just want to know a legit explaination behind u choosing bc over cal, that i need to be aware of b4 joining cal in spring.

I got accepted at Berkeley but I rejected them and trying to decide between UCSB and UCSD. I can’t stand hippies and leftists in general and hate the bay area.

I mostly applied there because I had 4 free UC applications and wanted to see if they’d accept me. They did but UCLA didn’t. Oh well.

im choosing ucla over cal because of location. i visited berkeley and i really can’t see myself living there at all! people have been calling me crazy for turning down cal…but after stressing about classes and whatnot…i’d rather go outside and feel sunshine beaming down on me than the dreary weather at cal.
