Is it rare? I thought the curve is good, you could miss 10% of the questions. Any suggestions how to study for the June SAT II US history test?

the test is *****ing difficult in my opinion, the curve is "good" because it really is a tough test. It is harder than the AP US history and has more specific questions. I would suggest Sparknotes SAT II u.s history to study for it, but make sure you have a good background of u.s history. When I took it in may i left 12 blank, and probably got around 5 wrong, check out the thread on the may U.S History sat ii exam, it helps to get an idea of what to expect and how we all reacted.

and if you did, what score did you get? My D. is taking it this June and I am not sure if this is a good decision for her to take this subject. It seems to be quite hard. With the amount of work she needs to put in, I think she could just take the Japanese test which seems much easier. What is your reason to take the US history? You love the subject or you don't have other choice? Thanks.

I took it last May one week before the APUSH exam. I ended up with a 790. There was a lot more stuff post-70s than I expected, which is what kept me from the 800. Basically, though, I think that it was about the same in difficulty as the AP exam was, just be sure to study more recent things.

desperate, i didn't take the CB-published tests, but i took two sparknotes tests and got a 630 and a 770. What's funny is that i didn't study between these two tests but improved 140 points... They did seem harder than the actual test, IMO.

My D. is using Barron's prep book and so far she is only finishing 1/3. How is Barron's SAT II US History prep book? Should she switch to AMSCO? REA? Sparknotes???

barrons overprepares you imo. a standard 2 year high school education in us hist + sparknotes should be sufficient.

I took it in January and got a 790..questions about women's rights and nader .etc. [other weird ones]; kept me from an 800...

Get Kaplan... That book is the bomb...

I paid for online SparkNotes diagnostic tests (you get all the tests so I may use it to decide if I should take Math IIC, as well).

I hope the SparkNotes tests are good indicators. I've taken two of the tests so far and scored 700 and 730. They definitely help because it tells you what topics you need work on.
