Anybody had a proud moment like this one?

This question was for Foil :P

I failed a pretest (54%) but then got an A on the actual test.

Every single test of AP Chemistry in junior year. I actually started out the year with a C on a test, and everything went downhill from there ;) Although I gaped at my first D and the subsequent Fs on quizzes (Cs on tests) because I was a straight-A student in everything else, I forced myself to laugh. My parents were great -- since they never put my good grades on the fridge like the cliche, they joked that they would only put up my Fs.

Yet, somehow I managed to pull out an A in that class. I suspect that most of my success was due to the fact that my Chem teacher, who I'd had for all of sophomore year for Honors Chem, gave birth to her third child AND experienced a resurgence of her leukemia. As such, she often wasn't around -- I think that she just didn't enter in all of our grades. :p

And, I managed to get a 3 on the AP exam. You've gotta love the AP system -- I passed with probably a 40%, which is about as much of two years of Chemistry that I absorbed ^_^

um when i saaw "thats cuz ur a girl" i laughed...i thought it was sarcasm. i sure hope it was. i read it as deadpan sarcasm.

hmm...have to say a 34/50 on my global essay.

This thread has turned into "omg this one time I got a 81 and almost cried" type of thread.

I joined this community tennis club my freshman year, and it was my biggest EC up until last spring. The coach is suchhhh a jerk and a total pedafile. I've hated him with a passion for all 3 years, but I stuck with it for college apps. Last spring he had the nerve to tell my parents that I had an attitude problem (this was NOT true because I am always extremely respectful to adults even if I dislike them). I figure he told them this because I didn't laugh at his "witty" jokes, but anyways, I got in a load of trouble with the folks. I was so mad at him for telling them this and my parents for believing the jerk over me that I quit the club all together. I thought I would miss it and that I would regret it, but I definitely don't. And now I get sweet revenge by refusing to play in all tennis tournaments that he runs....which sucks for him because there aren't many kids left to play in them :D

wow can I just apologize for my horrible grammar/spelling in my last post.

No! How dare you! Shame is bestowed upon you!

i had a 99 percent in AP Government because i got 100% on the first two tests, and then i got a 65% on the third. my grade was still over 95.

in the same week i had a 97 in AP Bio, got a 54% on the plant unit test, and still had a 93 after.

It was a proud week.

I kind of have a moment like this. I managed to pull off an A in trigonometry a couple of years ago, even though I got a 45% on one of the quizzes. I laughed right after I got it back because I'd never got anything lower than an A-/B+ on any of my math assessments.

Girls are inferior in math. This has been proven by research.

Can you cite a few examples, please?

[/quote]
Definitely can't cite me. ;)

I once got 4 out of 10 in a physics quiz. I was proud of it because the rest of the class cheated off my paper and got the same.

i got a 44% on my first ap computer science exam. the whole class did bad. we laughed about it. life goes on.
grrr don't say girls are bad at math. i contend any "inferiority" comes from society teaching girls that they are not as good at math.

reject the patriarchy eh?

hmmm so many people "never getting below 90s in math". you must have easy math classes. even our best math students do poorly in some math tests in my school. must be why we have guaranteed 5s on ap calc (legit)

legit is my word! :D

legit is a good word

Lol .

in algebra 2 i once got a 2.5% on a quiz.. got the highest final score with a 94% i think.

Right now, my grades on major writing assignments are 76, 77, and 78. I'm expecting a 79 soon. :D
