Anybody have insanely smart siblings?

While I get rejection/waitlist letters :(

My sister is getting into like four, five Ivies (she applied for grad schools)

Always, when people compare me to my sister, I get depressed :(:(

are you and your sister twins? or are you applying for undergrad?
if so, i know exactly exactly what you mean. i have a genius older sister who is a senior in college and is just brilliant. people in my family are obsessed with her and i'm like hello? anybody there??

no, not twins

an older sister.. she already graduated from a top college, and she is applying for grad school right now. Everyday, she gets an acceptance letter from ivies...

omg, comrade lol :D

well, not spectacular sibling exactly, but one of my friends whose dad unfortunately happens to be friends with my dad...basically she got into practically every ivy/prestigious LAC she applied to...I always get this "look" and/or "sad sigh"

hahaha my sis african american
valedictorian
1550 SAT
800 780 sat II's

she ended up going to harvard but she got into every school in ivy league

well. it's like
my sister - ivy person
my mom's friend(#1)'s daughter - harvard
my mom's friend(#1)'s son - princeton
my mom's friend(#2)'s daughter - UPenn
my dad's friend's son - Chicago(Free ride)
my dad's friend's son#2 - Tokyo U -> MIT Sloan Graduate School

ugh... I don't like my family and my parents' friends :(

How about the other side of the coin...anyone have a sibling who is far from the all-star status (i.e. YOU are the better sibling)? I'm not praising myself, just looking for other confused comrades. My brother's ACT = 16. Mine = 34. He's getting his bachelor's so it all comes out in the wash due to good parents.

Not me personally, but I have a friend like that. 4.0 in HS, 1590 SAT (old one), 100 percent in AP Calculus AB (the only question he ever got wrong was when he forgot to carry the negative sign in ONE problem), 5 on the Calculus BC test (our school doesn't even offer BC), Spanish Language, English Literature and Composition, a couple of the physics ones, etc.

His sister, a year older, is just as smart. They're both at Stanford right now, and they have one more coming through the ranks of the high school. I believe she's a junior right now, and got a perfect 1600 on the old SAT. I think that the best thing those parents can do for the world is to have some more kids. Good grief. I don't see how it's possible to have so many geniuses in one family..but anyways, that's the smartest family I know haha.

Wow that family does not sound natural. Sounds like a family of breeded super-humans.

My little sister is smarter than I am.

Mom - ehh
Dad - ehh
Cousin - presenting her diabetes research to NIH
Cousin's Husband - Did Radiology residency at Mass Gen Hospital
Other Cousin - 1590 SAT - Attended NW HPME and also accepted Brown PLME
Other Cousin - IQ 150
Uncle - Was a orthopaedic surgeon
Older Brother - 1530 SAT - 3 800's and a 790 on SAT II's - attends TCNJ/UMDNJ 7 Year
Younger Brother - 150+ Math IQ

haha you guys are acting like SAT scores or IQ scores define whether someone is a genius or not. that's so ridiculous.

get real - someone's brilliance is tough to define, and definitely isn't based on numbers... but I know it when I see it.

my brother :D

not my family

my 3 cousins

1570 SAT
1540 SAT
1580 SAT

the joke is, where did they attend?

one went to UVA on a full ride
the other went to Michigan on a full ride
the other, went to Duke

2 of my cousins went to harvard. 1 went to wharton, and their dad went to MIT and Harvard.

My brother is 10 years old only. So I'm making it my goal to make him get into Stanford and other ivys or wherever else he wants to go. I want him to be smarter than me and much more well rounded (which I think he already is.. ).

My cousin in is grad school right now and I am being compared with her as a high school senior! She got into every college she applied to (including Georgetown, NYU, and Stanford). She graduated from NYU the #1 person in her class (I forgot what you call it) and got a full ride based on merit to UC Berkeley for graduate school. She is now working on her doctorate and is the shining student. Ughh!
