Anybody have their interviews yet?

Has anybody already done their alumni interview? If so, how did it go? What was it like?

Is there a deadline by which we must have our interview?

I had my interview last weekend. We met at Starbucks and my interviewer bought my latte. He was really friendly and we just had a casual conversation with a typical set of questions. He asked about which school I was applying to, what I liked about it, what other schools I was applying to, what extracurriculars I am involved in, and what subjects I like best and least, what I was thinking about majoring in and pursuing after getting my BS. I asked him about how he wound up going from SFS to his present career and what happened with his friends and whether he and his friends made use of being in DC. I was dressed business casual and he wore jeans and a long sleeve button down, so I felt a little overdressed. The whole interview lasted 30-40 minutes.

I don’t want to scare you so I will preface this post with the message that my interviewer was really nice and very open about her personal life. However… she did forget about our planned meeting the first time around. I think it might have ended up being an advantage because, when we met the following week, I knew she almost HAD to be nice to me. She was profusely apologetic and bought me some coffee when we were finished. She asked me about what my school was like, the “why georgetown” question, what I wanted to major in and why, any other activities. I asked her what she liked best about georgetown, if there was anything she would change, and about her experience while attending and after graduating. I wore a casual skirt and a v-neck. I was also a tad overdressed comparatively. My interview was also 30-40 minutes. It ended up feeling a bit like a conversation as we both responded to what the other said.

I had mine yesterday, and it was fine. Very casual, really friendly guy. He just asked things about my ECs, what I do for fun, why I want to go to Georgetown, what I want to study, and an ethical dilemma I’ve had. It really was a conversation, not a Q&A.
