Checked today and saw my account got disconnected somehow. Re-entered my application ID and birthdate but it doesn't seem to work. Anybody having the same problem? (Waitlisted btw)

We got a message that the site was down for maintenance.
xcyl40 - Good Luck. I’ve been following your story for awhile and I really hope you get in.
But I also hope you have a plan B in case UCR doesn’t work out, you know - Hope for the best, prepare for the worst…

Thanks dudeyes. I’m just extremely worried and an impatient guy. I do have a Plan B, but I don’t really like my plan B…

I’m just concerned about this year’s waitlist since last year UCR didn’t admit anybody from it.

As far as the waitlist goes, every year is different. I’ve seen previous years where anywhere from 30-50% of those on the waitlist got admitted.
I think at this point it wouldn’t hurt to contact either someone in admissions or an advisor in the major you’re in and let them know how interested you are e.g., , if admitted, you’ll definitely accept, etc… and any other info that’s not on your application that might sway them.

I can? I can appeal online on the myUCR portal. Is that where I should write how interested I am?

Or should I email my academic counselor about my interests to UCR?

Here’s what I did - we went to a tour last summer and talked to one of the counselors after the info session. He was very helpful, and even though he didn’t represent the area of the state we were from - we’re in NoCal, he gave us his card and we corresponded. It made the process alot easier when we knew someone who at least was somewhat familiar with our situation.

So if you haven’t already, go to this page

[Meet Your Counselor](http://vcsaweb.ucr.edu/Admissions/Admissions/meetCounselor)

and see if any of them represent the area you’re from and tell them your situation.
Also, if you live close by, go visit and see if they would meet to discuss your situation. I have no idea if this is possible, but you won’t know unless you ask.
I’m sure there’s no guarantee of results, but at this point, I’m not sure there is much to lose.
Good luck.
