go on the 15th

I went this Wednesday, the 2nd.

First, they start off with a Continental breakfast and Welcome meeting at the De Neve Auditorium. Basically, they give you an overview of the day's events.

Next, there are two "Exploring the College" sessions: one for Humanities and
Social Sciences and the other for Life and Physical Sciences. I went to the Humanities and Social sciences session, where a third-year Econ major talked about his time at UCLA and one of the Professors elaborated on majors with Colleges of Letters and Sciences. They also talked about clusters/fiat lux classes.

After the break there were current students who discussed social life/housing/extracurriculars/etc. with us at Bradly International Ballroom. The student that talked to my group was named Amanda, who was really friendly and charismatic!

Lunch: Was amazing! I dined at Covel Commons, and felt like a kid in a candy store, with a ton of different desserts, pasta, pizza, ice cream, like your own Hometown Buffet! I think I gained five pounds leeching off the food there :D.

Then you have the campus tours. I had a chill, funny tour guide that made me love the campus even more and made me laugh almost every five minutes. He talked about North Campus/South Campus rivalry and USC/UCLA rivalry. Mentioned about USC releasing 20,000 crickets in the library, and how Tommy Trojan's arm??! (not sure) was re-attached to another part of the body! The guide also brought up Bruinism, where at freshman orientation new Bruins dip their hands into the inverted fountain as a sort of Bruin Baptism! Afterwards, he lead my group around the whole campus, North/South, down the Janns Steps, etc. I really think I walked off all the pasta and pizza, 'cause my legs were aching after the tour!

After the tour, there are financial aid counselors back at De Neve Hall that can talk to you about your financial aid, ePal, and give advice about scholarships.

Finally, current UCLA students take you on a tour throughout the dorms. I visited a residence hall (Hedrick) and De Neve plaza, and I have to admit that I've fallen in love with the plaza. It looks like a mini hotel! Haha, and the student guides were really informative and friendly, and gave a lot of info on student life, extracurriculars, and all that jazz.

Welcome day was truly a great experience, and strengthened my love for UCLA even more! The students were extremely friendly and helpful, and the student guide even told my group to facebook her with any questions! This was definitely the highlight of my spring break! :)
