Nobody? Nobody? Nobody? (making at least 10 characters;))

you wont hear til dec 1st....anyways what did pple apply with..

GPA:
SAT:
EC:

I am applying with a 3.38 GPA (low, but i go to the best public school in seattle and take the toughest courses)
1370 SAT
4 years tennis
Physics club
Tutoring
Band
DECA
Summer volunteering

I think you got a pretty good shot of getting in. Even tough your GPA is low I think they ll throw that out with a very strong schedule and ur SAT score (which is pretty good)

How bout me? 3.3 GPA but 3.92 (Weighted).. taking IB diploma + AP courses.. 1 leadership, and about 6 clubs.. but my sat is low 1230 (highest composite).. I am an international student from Indonesia.. thx

I'm not too experienced with international students and how they look at you but according to your scores you got a decent shot (gpa is a little low).

pple who live in WA can pretty much get in for sure with a 3.6 and 1200 assuming they dont apply to late and have the basic stuff. outta state its a little harder (about 3.8 and 1250 for "GUARANTEE"). I would guess they look at international students the same as outta state...maybe even better because UW is big on "diversity"

I think they love internationals also because of international fees. A lot of money, yes, but I think for biochem (which is what I'm hoping to major in), U Wash is definitely worth it. Seattle sounds great too, and I love skiing! At first I kinda looked at it as a safety, but now I'm really liking it.

My stats.. I think my gpa is about 3.8 in American standard. Not too sure though because I kinda screwed up my NCEA level 3 exams (new exam system in NZ - stupid as!), but I'm hoping my 1450 SAT will get me through. Good luck to everybody! Dec 1st is not that far away!!

rains SOOO much though =/

Maybe its because I was raised in Tacoma, WA (45 min. away from Seattle), but I don't really notice the rain. Statistically, Boston, NYC, and a few other cities on the East Coast get more rain. (I'm remembering this from like a brochure or something...) Anyways, I know that UW is an awesome school, but I guess coming from an in-state POV, I've never had this huge urge to attend. What are some opinions of the school from you kids who don't live in WA?

actually for international.. the SAT is optional.. so if I get 1260 for my SAT.. should I submit my score.. or just send the TOEFL 250? thx

ehh send the SAT ur toefl is a bit lowww.

It's 250 in computer-based, right? Then that's not too bad, is it?
1260 for SAT sounds good too.. Why not send both?

madfoxmadfox, I think you are getting in. If you go to the admissions section of the university of washington's web site, the school lists a chart showing the stats of people who got in and didn't get into the school. You look good.

In-State
SAT: 1290
GPA: 3.97
EC: 4 years volunteering at hospital
3 years tennis, 2 years varsity and co-captain
all-league 2nd team tennis
2 years key club, treasurer currently
church youth group, 3 years, and staff for past 2 years

I think I'm good to go, but... I just hope I didn't make too many errors on application for them to throw it out. I made some -.-. Not doublespacing the essay a big deal?

cd8705: You go to lakeside? Cause that's the best school in WA.

If I apply today (dec. 1) when can I expect to hear back?

Near the end of December, early January. If you applied a few weeks earlier, you probably could have gotten notification by 2nd week of December.

I'm just going off of my sister, who applied probably 4-7 days before closing date for priority, and she got her acceptance during christmas break.. so somewhere in 3rd week-4th week of dec.

When was that? And did she have very good grades and SAT scores? cuz usually they ll notify u quickly if u got a very high GPA and SAT score.

HAHA i beat the Dec 1 deadline for the honors stuff. I only got my rec letter today so i went to the post office to make sure they postmarked it on dec 1 for me.

Oh yeah, dopke, i don't go to lakeside. Garfield- public school. You play tennis, are you in kingco 4a?

Negative, in spsl (tough league), shoulda made districts.... but paired up with freshman partner who was the second best on our team, but still not very good. we were upset 1st round in sub-districts. :( Garfield... missed the part about public school :P..

seven: she had 4.0, similar SAT as mine.

i think, they wil notify you quickly, it's just that since the closer you get to deadline, the more and more apps they get, so it just takes time to go through them.
