Anybody hear yet?

I applied early decision and the website said that letters would be mailed on the 15th. I was just wondering if anyone heard already or if the letters literally would not be put into the mail until 12/15. Good luck to everyone else that applied!

OT, but Dance7, do you do ballet? When visiting schools, my D had her best ballet experience at Barnard, taking class with Allegra Kent. And of her classmates from the ballet studio who graduated last year, the one happiest with her ballet at college is at Barnard. D at Smith seems next most satisfied...the one at Cornell is really unhappy and I don't think the one at Vassar is even dancing.

Sorry about the OT...you might as well pass the time while waiting. :)

My daughter also applied ED and my understanding is that the letters will literally be mailed on 12/15. Perhaps some of those in/near NYC will let us know when they receive Barnard responses! Good luck to you!

hey all... I live about 40 minutes outside of NYC and I haven't heard anything yet. As you've all said, I believe they are being mailed tomorrow... I should hear by Thursday or Friday, and if in the celebration/mourning I have a chance, I'll certainly let you know when I've heard.

I live in Manhattan and I found out today

Did you get in???

??!?!? Did you really get a letter? Te people at the admissions office swear they are not getting sent out until tomorrow

Would those of you in and near NYC let the rest of us know when you hear from Barnard?

Good luck to all of you!

I sure will

I got my letter today...I was deferred. It was sent out yesterday, the 13th, first class mail

Lala428, What's your planned course of action?

Well I plan on calling them tomorrow to find out why/what was the weakest part of my app. I am also writing a letter or something to show them how much I really want to go. They suggest any supplementary materials, an extra letter of recommendation, writing sample, or letter. They way I'm thinking of it right now is that it's almost like I didn't apply ED, except that at least I know there is something they saw that kept me from being rejected and also that when other people from my school apply regular and we are being compared, I have ED which pulls some weight.

If you got deferred my chances are not looking so good :(

I received my letter today. It was delivered first class, sent out December 13th. (I live in Queens, NYC.) The envelope should be one of those standard blue and white ones with the shape of an eagle plastered somewhere or another.

Lala and Leeno -
Don't lose hope yet. It's hard to do sometimes, but always keep your fingers crossed and look on the bright side! : )

Amalthea, what was the decision???

congrats! I am excited for you

Lala, that's the exact outlook you should have. Best of luck in making your application even better for the RD round!

Congratulatoins, Dance7! And thanks for letting us in on the details. We Californians will continue to wait...

I got in too!!!!!!!

hey girls! (and guys??? are there any??)

lol I'm writing to say that I got in! yay. a friend of mine from school did too! Congrats to everyone else, and good luck in RD to those of you who got deferred... barnard will see that you deserve to be there!
