Just wondering what everyone status is looking like? Feel free to comment!

mine says :
Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Spring 2014 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision.

@TripleX o okay that’s cool. Mine has been referred already so I’m hoping I get news soon. What school did you apply to?

I don’t want to burst your bubble or anything, but don’t expect a decision until Nov-Dec.

O wow! I thought when your application has been referred it usually doesn’t takes as long, but you would know. Thank you!

Back when I applied, I thought the same, but I wasn’t accepted for the Spring 2013 until about a little over a week before the term started, although my case was probably rare, I know most of my fellow peers got their acceptances in Nov-Dec. Based on what I’ve read on here, UF seems to be prone on having the longest wait time (in most cases).

Either way, I wish you luck!

Thanks. I applied for African American Studies. The program is fairly new and not as on demand as the other programs that everyone tries to get into.

I applied as a Finance major at Warrington, I don’t think its till Nov-Dec, it must be earlier.

I applied for Fall in January and didn’t get a decision until early July. The date that CALS was giving people was July 15th at the latest and then they still hadn’t finished all the decisions. Some colleges did decisions early, but I don’t think anyone heard back until after the last day that applications were accepted.

When I looked through the Spring 2012 UF transfer forum on here, everyone got the decisions between September and November. Most got theirs in October, but there were those who found out in late November, so it’s close to the start of the spring semester. It all depends on the application deadline of your college. They don’t start looking through them until that deadline hits—so if the deadline is in September your application has not been reviewed yet by your college. The earliest deadline I know of is in August, so we got a while. Then they should let you know by the university’s deadline of giving out decisions—last time I checked it was November 17th, give or take.

@vellex thanks, I didn’t bother to look at the deadline what is your major?

@Vellex I saw the same time-frame when looking at the Spring 2012 page. I did see, however, on the Spring 2013 thread that some folks who’s college’s deadline was Sep. 15 were getting decisions as early as the first week of September. I would imagine that every year UF gets a little faster in their decision making process. Hopefully we will all find out sooner rather than later.

@digsthepast I know right, what’s your major

@UFpotential1 I haven’t bothered to look at the deadline either, honestly lol I know I’m most probably waiting at least a month, so I’m in no rush. x] My major is English.

@digsthepast Did those decisions include acceptances? There was one poster on the Spring 2012 UF transfer forum that got an early denial before his college’s deadline, their reason being that he did not have all the requirements to be referred to his college. Fortunately it was a mistake on their part for miscalculating his credits, so he was able to straightened it out and was actually accepted later in November x] I believe he ended up declining, though lol. Regardless, he was the only one I saw to get an early decision, but as I said the application was denied. x-/

@UFpotential1 I’m an Anthropology major, which is part of CLAS.

@Vellex Looking back over the 2013 thread, I’ve found the following: @mitchellrod90 got his acceptance on September 2nd (CLAS). The link to that is here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/14805614-post33.html

@maferguson gets accepted on Sep. 8 (COE)

@phoenixlhp and @ihigitts get accepted on Sep. 13th and 14th

Moral of the story: the 2013 decisions(some at least) certainly happened earlier then the 2012 decisions. Hopefully, 2014 will be even sooner. I hate the waiting.

@digsthepast thanks for the references. What is your race and age.

@digsthepast Wow, those students were accepted before the general September 15th deadline, which didn’t happen in the Spring 2012 UF transfer forum. That is definitely an improvement x] Only thing that worries me about the Spring 2013 forum is there were students who received the college’s decision even later than the students in Spring 2012’s forum x-/ The last person to find out their decision in the 2012 forum was on November 22nd, and the last person to find out in the 2013 forum was on November 28th. Ugh. So now you can be accepted well before your college’s deadline, and well after lol. Progression and retrogression, it seems.

Regardless, it seems September - November is the time frame we should all be watching out for.

Just to freshen up this thread, I applied to UF for their dual Bachelors degree program for Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering for the Spring 2014 semester. I was called by the Mechanical & Aerospace program on Sep 17th because they needed an updated transcript that included my summer classes that did not finish until after I submitted my application. I applied around August 10th with a deadline of Aug 16th.

2 days later I was accepted, I found out by checking my application status on their website & 2 days after that I received a “you’ve been accepted” packet from them as well as USF’s Mechanical Engineering program. I have until Nov 23rd to decide between the two.

My current educational credentials

Hillsborough Community College
Summer 2012 - Fall 2013
65 credits completed; 16 in progress
4.0 GPA seriously

Also when I applied I had only completed 2 of 8 critical tracking courses (UF requires 6 of 8 completed at the time you submit your application).
