It doesn't seem like anybody here even knows about Sarah Lawrence, but I might as well start the ball rolling...I'm looking at Sarah Lawrence seriously, and I want to know if anybody has anything at all to say about it. Thanks in advance for...anything you might have to say.

Yes, I'd like to know more about Sarah Lawrence too. Somebody please respond!

Superstarr, don't you wish somebody would respond?!

I wish someone would too. When's the app due?

i'm a junior and i'm also seriously considering sarah lawrence because of its writing-intensive and arts-based curriculum. i want to develop my writing skills for law school and my art talent just so i can train myself to think more creatively about the real world.

I have applied to Sarah Lawrence for fall 2005 regular decision. I am extremely curious about the decision.

Ummm... wondrlst, if you're still wondering when the app is due, I'm sorry but it was due more than a month ago!

oh yeah i know. haha i was just curious. im DONE with my apps.

Haha ok. Did you apply to SLC?

My cousin went there and loved it. She is legally blind (but can see a little bit) and had her mother die her junior year in college (with her father already dead). At SLC, she found that the approach was incredibly personal. When her mother died, the dean immediately waived all further expenses for her --- full scholarship.
Now, about 8 years after graduating, she's a features editor at a major magazine, so I guess the school has really done a lot for her.

thats sad, but amazing of slc. i actually didn't apply. i had some reason that doesnt occur to me, the fact that ehy dont give much financial aid (so i heard) or something. but its noe of those colleges id want to transfer to if i hate wherever i go.

I want to go there but cost is a big issue with me. Is there truth that they give virtually no financial aid?

One of the factors that encouraged me to apply to SLC (though not the only one, of course!) was that -- according to one online source (I think it was Petersons) -- the average financial aid amount SLC gave to international students was really high (in comparison with many other colleges I was looking at) though very few people got it. For me, it's all or nothing (well, not all, but quite a lot; anything less and I can't afford to go) so that was a factor.

I really want to go to SLC...however, my family is not wealthy, I mean we are just barely middle class and my brother is in school. ;-(

I love to write.

Hello! I'm a student at SLC. I got a great financial aid package, as did many of my friends. Like any other school, the offer varies from person to person.

I applied to Sarah Lawrence as a freshman and was waitlisted (and last year, 2004, was one of the years in which they did not take anyone off the waitlist). So I applied again this year as a transfer student, and got accepted, and also got a very wonderful financial aid packet. The first time I applied my parents were afraid that I wouldn't get enough financial aid. And even this year when I told my parents the good news about being accepted as a transfer student, they wouldn't congratulate me until I had emailed them scans of all the financial aid information. lol.

I've heard that 'Even the squirrels wear black' at SLC. Are the majority of the students stuck up and are they nearly all big smokers/drinkers/druggies?
