Anybody here live in a crappy state...like Iowa?

Great summary by Cards, I must say. Iowa City is one of the best college towns, heavy into the athletics (esp Fotball and Basketball). Spring and Fall are great, Winter real cold and snowy, summer hot and humid. UIowa is pretty good at partying, tailgating, and drinking. A lot of Fall revolves around the Hawkeyes and Football (hawks are usually pretty good at football-they play Texas tomorrow, and also play Cornell U tomorrow in Basketball). I must admit, while I don't like Iowa, Iowa City is a cool place. People here are nice, though there is not a whole lot of diversity. And some of the liberals in IC make would make Al Franken look conservative, lol. Decent dorms, easy to meet people and make friends. Or hook up. Coral Ridge Mall is pretty big, has a lot of stuff. It's ok. And there are lots of cultural events in Iowa City, and lots of intellectual type of stuff. People like Noam Chomsky, David Sedaris, Howard Zinn come by. Traffic is pretty good in Iowa. There is also a large gay population here, I think like 2nd behind San Fran. Chicago is about 3 hours away. Thats all I got for now, anything else?

Edit: After IC, there are a couple medium size towns, and then we hit cow towns, ohhhh yea. I probably shouldn't comment on the small towns.

Edit: Didn't mean to get off topic on this thread (it's turned into an Iowa lovefest, lol), but I'm interested in hearing of people who live in suck places.

Aww man, Hawks pimp slap Cornell (take that Ivy League) but lose to Tejhas. Long winter here and it's gonna suck.

Anyone here want to know about Tennessee? Anyone?Anyone at all? No one? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Gotta love Tejas. (:

Random: Did you know that Tejas was Caddo for "hello friend"?
Or at least that's what my old Texas History teacher told us..

But then again, he also depended on the Norse god of thunder, Thor, to put us in seating arrangements...

i visited berkley once.....

and im never going back.

if any of you out there are hippies thats your place.

I actually would love to hear about Tennessee. I know little about the south, aside from stereotypes. Share you must!

I'm from the lovely state of Missouri. I live in Kansas City, so I'm not in the middle of nowhere. I would like to go to college in New England.

I thought it just meant friend, but whatever. Your teacher's not crazy.

Texas is the best because we have awesome thunderstorms! Seriously, everywhere else, the thunderstorms are completely whimpy.

I met a woman from Tennessee once. She was annoying. I'll try not to judge the state by just her though. Isn't Graceland in Tennessee?

If you are bored, no matter where you live, you must be lacking in imagination.

you resurrected this dead, 1+ year old thread just to say that?

bebooks=bored.
