i just found out i got accepted! good luck to everyone still waiting to hear. i have a 3.82 gpa and 1860 sat score for those who are curious. what i would like to know though is whether i would hear about any potential scholarships in the acceptance package or do i find out in another letter? i missed the MLK scholarship so im hoping to get some sort of academic one.

I think that if you look at the blog and then look at this date last year's posts it says something about the scholarships. I'm about to check my mail right now...congrats!

edit: nothing from them. Maybe tomorrow?

to alleviate any worries...i applied early action and was accepted with a 650 in CR and 670 in math

Well, I'm worried as hell. I have about a 3.2 and I did not send my SATs.

Thank you, dank08

SZ 0626 - the only merit scholarships (besides ones with separate applications) go to the students in the honors program. All honors students receive either half, three-quarters or full tuition in merit scholarships. The honors letter comes about a week after the acceptance letter, according to the Admissions office (I called them yesterday)

I'm not quite sure all honors students receive scholarships. I've known quite a few who are just in the honors program without one of the merit awards. I could be wrong, but that's what I was told...but I think you can assume if you aren't in honors...no merit scholarship.

Accepted. I was shocked because it was a reach by a long shot. Now I just need money. Hopefully I win something from the Martin Luther scholarship and get a serious amount of financial aid.

i got an acceptace today too, and from american, it seems i have a choice to make now.

Also got my acceptance letter today. Not my top choice, but definitely a solid backup!

Congrats, dank08!

ErnieD,
the PC website says that up to 135 students will be admitted to the Honors Porgram, and that merit scholarships will be limited to the honors students. Then it says that 30 St. Dominic scholarships will be awarded, 50 St. Thomas Aquinas and 55 St. Catherine of Siena. 30 + 50 + 55 = 135, the max number of honors students. That's where my assumption came from.

Also, during a visit to my school an admissions rep said that all honors students receive scholarships.

Any thoughts on this year's admission process? I've been reading the blog, but my friend, who has a 3.8 GPA with honors and AP classes and an 1800 SAT, got waitlisted. She has ECs, too. Maybe it was her essay.

Your friend should have gotten in, don't know what to say. Definitely should have gotten in over me.

I got waitlisted. I'm actually sort of surprised, I have a 3.89 GPA and 1950 SAT. I already was accepted at my 2 top choices though.

Congrats to everyone who did get in!
