<p>im a junior in high school heading into summer. Ive planned on getting a mac sometime before college and am starting to look now. I have the money and want to get it by christmas next year at the latest. Right now im just waiting for a new one to come out. Does anyone know when the latest one came out and when the new one is supposed to?</p>

<p>I don’t think many kids place the brand new Mac above all else for college because of the promotion Apple does on the slightly older Macs during the summer. Buy one during the back to school promotion, which is going on now and is usually from about the last week in May to the last week of August, and you get a free iPod Touch, and maybe other things (I didn’t pay all that much attention when I bought mine on Wednesday).

<p>I’d wait until summer before college, that’s when I think I’ll be getting mine… when that happens, I would have had my current mac for 6 years o.O</p>
