Just wondering how SAT I's are going to be counted? Will they take the best of each subject from all sittings? Or the best score from one sitting? Any idea? Thanks!!

would a private college other than uc really take writing seriously? - sorry xsamantha- I wanted to add to your question and no i don't know the answer to yours sorry :)

-They will take the best of each subject from all sittings
-When I visited, they said they aren't considering writing this year. Some private colleges do take it seriously though, just not Cornell.

whaaaat? they aren't considering writing?!.. darn..i actually did decently on that :(

Does anyone have some sort of list of colleges that is considering the writing section? Even when I go on each college's website, they are pretty ambiguous about the writing section.

so it would be like the old sat - verbal +math /1600 = ? NOTwriting?

why doesn't uc's do that- ohh cus they were the ones that made cb change it arg...and does cornell take the one sitting score or the best ones?

just kidding - disregard the second one - shows how well i read :D

Of course Cornell is looking at the writing section. I remember they said that they will look at it.

It just makes me so angry that schools that previously wanted the SAT II writing is no longer looking at the SAT I writing. (Georgetown)

When I visited they said they were not considering it. Specifically, they said this at an engineering information session. So, I wouln't be so sure that they are "Of course" looking at it...It may vary college by college, or maybe they are not sure if/how much they are counting it.

geez..that is good news for me.....wonder if engineering put less emphasis on reading..esp for esl students who only spent 3 yrs in canada....^^

How could they not consider it? Even if they say they're not considering the writing score, they'll obviously see it and have a bias when evaluating your application.

yeah im sorry i didnt get a 12 for nothing, theyd better count that...

...or i hope they like baseball
