-6 would result in -7, not -8 (because the SAT rounds up, for example in your case 6 wrong would be -7.5 but would be lowered to -7).

-7 raw would yield a 720-730.

what would be a -20 plus 5 omitted (not saying that its me or anything…)

^ low 500’s.

Are u predicting a generous or harsh curve?

i got 6 wrong on the december one, and i got a 720. this one was definitely much harder than that one. i’m estimating around 6-7 wrong on this one as well, but hopefully an improvment on 720 because of a better curve.

The curve is going to be harsher.

Historic Trends dont mean anything: people are starting to get the practice books, the online courses, private tutors, shifting the normal distribution to the right.

In January, a -2 on CR was an unprecedented 790.

Stop looking at Erik the Red’s outdated compilation of previous curves.

@jason

Erik’s compilation includes recent tests (i.e. October 2009)

Is CollegeBoard making the SAT harder to account for an augmented supply in tutors, classes, books, online resources, etc?

Oh geesh I’m so worried. I got an 800 in CR and 800 in M in the practice test. But for the real test…nah. I could gotten just 2 wrong which would probably be an 800. But no…instead, I left an obvious answer blank b/c I didn’t believe myself and changed an answer that was wrong for no reason! Now I have 3 wrong and 1 skip. How much would that be?

What makes me mad is everyone is complaining about vocab, but I got all the vocab right! But the reading section was bleh for me. I always doubt and change my right answer/or leave an anwer blank when I actually had the RIGHT answer in mind, especially under stressful conditions.

Sorry for not replying sooner mabs: I am predicting a normal curve for March’s CR.

January had -2 for CR as 790, which (I believe) is the first time that has happened in recent years. However, the vocabulary in January was ridiculously easy and the passages were relatively simple as well. I will be extremely surprised if the March CR has the same harsh curve as January.

@ali

So you didnt think it was harder than usual?

I need a good curve.

I need more than a curve, I need a miracle my friends.

I thought it was easier than usual, especially the sentence completion. Also, the quality of testees is much higher too. I doubt a generous curve. I think -5 (4 wrong) is 740. That sucks, because I got an 80 on the PSAT CR.

Really? I felt that the general consensus on CC was that CR was slightly tougher than normal, the Math was easy, and the writing was average. I would consider the CR section slightly harder than usual, but not enough to make a drastic change in the curve. Like I said before, most likely a normal curve (-2 = 800, -3 = 790, etc).

The sentence completion was harder today than it was in January for sure.
