Anybody switched from Windows based Laptops to Apple Macbooks?

Yes, the MAC OS file system is horrible - it’s basically the same as it was in the 80s. You’d think they’d be embarrassed by that…

It’s been years since I used a Windows laptop. How is the file system different?

I considered the change to Apple but my kids (who actually use both) discouraged me from it. Apple is great for photos etc but they said the learning curve to use files on apple is pretty high and MS (as much as I dislike it at times) is much better for work applications.

I have always used Windows at work, and feel that is best for what I do. Many special applications that aren’t made for Mac, and Windows Office is better than Mac Office and the Mac equivalents.

But we did get a Mac Mini for our home computer in 2014, mainly due to its robustness against viruses. I was pleased to also find how much better the photo management is on Mac.

It took a little bit of getting used to, learning Mac copy and paste commands, file management, and other terminology. But I will buy another Mac mini when the time comes. Our current one is still as snappy and reliable as the day we bought it, although it is no longer eligible for the MacOS upgrades… iPhone and iPad handoff is also very useful but I had to turn off the text message handoff because others use the computer. LOL

I switched from a Windows based laptop to a Mac laptop for the reliable hardware, but android phone. I use Chrome as my browser and sync all things Google. Every so often someone on the Apple platform finds my Mac and tries to message me, or so they say. I never see it.
