Anybody waiting till ED decision to send out the rest of the apps?

I want to wait till I hear from Princeton (though it's unlikely I'd get in) till I send the rest of my applications for non-rolling schools. Saving $70+9 on app fees and SAT scores for each school adds up. However, my guidance counselor's being a pain and he's urging me to send out my apps as soon as possible...

I always thought for schools like Cornell and Penn, it doesn't matter when you send in your stuff, but my GC is telling me otherwise...so does it matter if I wait another week, or will it hurt my chances?

i'm waiting, even for stanford which is due on 12/15. I don't know if it's laziness or overconfidence, but yea I'm waiting. It won't hurt your chances, since I'm sure they just take your app and stick in it your file and don't look at it for awhile.

i've sent in all my secondary school reports/ sats though.

does it matter if I send in my secondary stuff before sending in the actual application?

you can do that, they just start your file with it. my school wants all that stuff 3 wks before deadline, so it probably gets there early

yea i am waiting, despite remote odds of getting accepted ED, it is worth saving $400. I am willing to wait, they are all finished though...

Waiting here as well. Not only because of the money but also because I need to get excited about writing the essays and the possibility of attending the 'other' schools. Only way for me to get excited and motivated is to totally eliminate the possibility of going to Ptn and of course the only way that is going to happen is if I get rejected. Yes, so getting rejected will only HELP me write better essays for the other schools and that is why I am waiting.

couldn't have put it better myself!!!

when I do my apps now, I don't take them seriously...I feel like I am "wasting" my time. I hope I feel smart not writing my Stanford essays before hearing from Pton instead of feeling incredibly stupid

goooosh! I SO wanna get in ED.....Pton lemme in!!! PLZZZZZ

I tended toward the pessimistic path by considering deferral or maybe outright rejection so I'm rather motivated to do other apps. Tried to get into my head that Princeton may not be the best choice and focused on other schools as being better. I just can't write my Stanford app that's it, MIT fine, UC Berkeley fine... Harvard and Yale done... but still much to go.

But then again, I would really like to get into Princeton that would mean the end of SATs and college apps, which would really be nice since I could do something fun over the winter break and get more involved in the activities that I have ditched.

yeah, i'm doing nothing until Pton's letter comes.........

yup im waiting... no need to spend more money on app fees and sending SAT scores, postage, etc.

With the exception of Stanford all my RD apps are on hold. What you save now you can spend at college :D

I finished all of mine this past summer. I only have to do financial adi stuff, but that comes along later, with FAFSA after January, so all my thoughts are on Pton. Not sure if that is a good thing... hehe...
