Anybody who has had excellent physics teachers? Impossible!

The Physics C teacher at my school is a former mechanical/aeronautical engineer who is truly fantastic. He’s an incredibly engaging guy who really manages to teach kids the material (a feat that is more impressive by the fact that my school does not require students to have taken any physics classes prior to APC). The course is split into 1st semester mech / 2nd semester E&M and the vast majority of students do very well on both AP tests.

Amazing class, I know of plenty of kids who have pursued Physics/MechE/AeroE heavily because of this guy’s influence and class, and most of those kids do very well in college STEM courses.

Count our family as having our children experience a horrible physics teacher.

He played favorites and couldn’t teach the concepts to save his life. He hated my son and made no secret of it to the other students. ( I was on staff) He could never look me in the eye, avoided me during staff meetings, even though I was on the grant committee that wrote up the grants for funding his STEM dollars; he never responded to my son’s questions, but responded to my dd’s and liked them.

The students took to meeting and self studying, on the weekends, to try to figure out the AP material from online sites.
