Anybody who received a supplemental get accepted to UCI yet?

Got one back in late January and haven't heard back yet. Apparently there was suppose to be a batch today. Anybody get in today and those who did post your stats?

I also received a supplemental in January. Took me about a month to complete it due to a lack of communication on my UCI counselor’s part. I have yet to hear back from UCI, but I expect to any day now.

Edit: Also, I’d like to think that them asking for a supplemental is good news. It means that you stand a decent chance at getting in. If your stats were already too weak they wouldn’t have bothered.

@OperationIvy
My GPA and SAT are way below average. :confused: My major is Computer Engineering. Maybe it’s b/c not a lot of people are applying for that major, I don’t know. I am praying that I will get in.

@xcyl40 Oh, my GPA and ACT were pretty far above average. Who knows :X.

@Operation Ivy What are your stats?

I got the Supplemental back in early January, no news yet, though there wasn’t a batch today as far as I could tell. My GPA is quite below average but my SAT is above average. You can get a supplement for a lot of different reasons, though, and remember: just because your stats are low/high doesn’t mean you’ll be accepted. UCI’s review system is, contrary to popular opinion, quite holistic. When you submit the supplement you’re not being judged under comprehensive review (comprehensive review meaning the initial review in the UC system where the value for your GPA is allowed to be multiplied by, say, 8 to show its importance, for your final application score), you’re being judged by holistic review where your application is ranked on its strengths as a whole.

Take it as a good sign you got a supplement. Some people are still getting them, even this late. I take that to mean that they have room enough in their admits to give people with borderline applications a shot. I agree with OperationIvy: if your stats were too low already, they wouldn’t have bothered. What they need is a tangible reason why your stats were so low so they know that, essentially, you weren’t just being lazy. It also means they had six people go through your application and had not yet arrived at a conclusion, so they wanted more input from you. It’s a good thing. Good luck!

My D got supplement on 1/19/13. She admitted Biological science today. (around 9 pm) But She wants Nursing. She already admitted univ. Michigan Ann Hobor Schoolof Nursing. She will go to Michigan.
Good luck everyone!

I got a supplement, but sadly didn’t do it because I couldn’t find out. Today, I received my admission status. Thank you, lord. <33 Good luck, everyone!

I revived the supplement in January, I didn’t fill it out because, to be honest I didn’t want to (it’s optional) still accepted so Not sure how much weight they place on it…

Accepted after filing the supplement in early February for business economics! 3.7 UC GPA, 31 ACT and 2060 SAT!

@CaliforniaRooted, it can often be the final piece of information they have in regards to accepting/denying you.

Me and the poster above just got lucky then??

I most likely received my supplement due to the fact that I’m applying after high school (I took a gap year). They wanted a copy of my diploma as well as a copy of my college transcript (I took dual-enrollment courses throughout high school).

I had a 3.94 UW GPA, not sure what my weighted GPA was and a 28 ACT. I’m also OOS.
