Just wondering if anyone has heard back on EA admissions?

I applied EA round I, and I'm still waiting for their decision, have you received your decision?

no, still waiting.

Son is still waiting...

Well, we are supposed to get it Dec 15th....so.....I would assume that means in the mail by 15, so hopefully online by like 13th or 14th?

Btw, if you guys (or your son) get accepted, are you going to attend, assuming a decent enough financial aid package? I probably will.

^ That's hard to say right now. My son likes several of his schools equally. Given the price of WPI, it would have to be a very good financial aid or merit aid package, and I'm pretty doubtful of that. But if it was a real option financially, I know my son would love being at WPI.

So, does anyone know if WPI is like...EXACT date...or is it semi-rolling with notifications earlier?
Also, does anyone know when it will be online? Exactly the 15th? or is it mysteriously unknown.

Are decisions posted online or mailed?

i would assume both, but they will be online on the 14th or 15th and you wont get the decision letter in the mail until after the weekend

oh okay. so they'll definitely be online first?

i believe they usually are, for most colleges, and i dont think WPI will be any different (especially considering how they are an engineering school after all, they must be technologically up to date :-P)

Hi, I just found out from the forum on the WPI website that what i said might have been wrong...

"The early action decision letters will be sent out by mail this week. You can not get the decision on-line. Thanks for checking."

Sorry if my previous assumptions end up being false.

Oh okay. No problem. I was just wondering because I know Carnegie Mellon's decisions are sent by mail a few days before they're posted online, so I just wanted to check WPI's policy to know what to expect.

I never saw that forum before! Thanks.

I was a little disturbed by the message on there from the mom who thought her kid's dorm was filthy. I have to say that at the college my other son attends, his dorm is very clean. (Well, NOT his room of course, but definitely the common areas.) So for the money that WPI costs, it sounds like they should step up custodial cares.

We have never visited WPI, but friends of my daughter have been out to visit their friends and said the dorms look like jail cells.

^ I think a lot of dorms are similar to jail cells - but I also know that many kids do not care one bit. If their friends are around they're happy.

But filth? That's a different story. Even the jail should be cleaned.

I've lived at WPI for a month... I didn't think it was filthy or like a jail cell. Yes some of the older dorms are white cinder block walls... but they're dorm rooms. You can't expect to be living in a five star hotel as a freshman, at least not there. I would think the person who called it filthy would have to have had very high standards- maybe they're not pristine, but they're far from filthy. And yes, I stayed in the oldest, grossest dorms.

As for the decisions being online, I emailed WPI directly about a week ago and they only release them by mail. No email, no online, no phone. How much does that suck??

I live so near the school, I'm tempted to go down and tell them not to bother mailing mine, I'll pick it up.

Sweeter... good to know that things are better than what we have heard as far as the dorms.

^ Agreed!

Good luck to you all.

Personally, I've never been too fond of the dorms, especially for the fact that they don't have air conditioning, but then again its usually cold anyways. I thought the dorms were quite small, but then again I'm comparing them to Bentley and that school is known to have nice dorms.
