Did anyone get a call from Pomona to say you were accepted off the waitlist?

Last year I saw several posts around this time. But maybe their yield is higher this year and they won't be accepting anyone off the waitlist.

ACCEPTED FROM THE WAITLIST! I JUST GOT MY EMAIL! YES YES YES YAYAYAYAYAY

THANK YOU POMONA =)

I think I'm going to hyperventilate now

D.T., this is kind of an awkward question, but are you a boy or a girl?
because I was told that when pomona goes to the waitlist, they usually look to add a few more y-chromosomes to the class, because of the gender imbalance that's so common nowadays in liberal arts colleges. if you're a girl, that gives me a little more hope for getting off the waitlist too.

(thats not to imply that boys get off the waitlist only because of their gender. it just helps.)

mis_fitz,

I'm a boy. Yeah it's no problem, I'm aware of the advantage that we have sometimes. This isn't what you wanted to hear but still, good luck to you for getting off!

According to my friend who was waitlisted at Harvard, an officer at harvard told him that normally Jun 13 is the "cut-off" date for waitlisters. So there's still time.

Congratulations, D.T.! My son is a 2010 and has really enjoyed his first year.

Thanks! It's a dream come through. Now here comes the work...haha

don't forget about the play part...

Oh yeah chopsticks, I won't haha =) Now I'm pondering over which OA trip to sign up for. I noticed priority is given to students who sign up by May 1? Ugh lol

I got pulled off the waitlist too! I am so freakin happy right now! I got a call from them and they told me the news, I am so excited to go!

Congratulations - I wonder whether your earlier posts about Pomona being your "#1 choice" helped - never know who might be watching these threads... (helps their yield rate to know you'll accept their offer of admission - sorta like binding early decision...)

Congrats too! Euphoria is in the air baby...haha

Does anyone else have any new information (or words of encouragement)? I have been in a state of perpetual anxiety since April...

Pomona is my dream school and I would go there in a heartbeat if offered admission, but I recognize that the odds of getting in off the waitlist are quite low.

Good luck to my fellow waitlistees - even though you are my competition as well.

According to a WSJ article today http://online.wsj.com/article/SB117927557746304211.html?mod=hpp_us_at_glance_pj, Pomona will take (has taken?) only 6 people off its wait list this year...

Don't you find it a bit interesting that 2 of the 6 posted on this thread? Either that's a crazy coincidence, or something ain't right with those numbers.

Have all the 6 waitlist spaces been filled already?

Again, does anyone have any new information? I called a little over a week ago and they said they were still working on the wait list, but I haven't heard any more recent news than that.
