Anyone Accepted Out of State yet?

Title says it all

No, my son is still waiting to hear.

Still waiting!

Also still waiting.

Y’all have any idea when we can expect a decision?..I’ve heard as early as mid-January or as late as March

I’ve read some people have already heard back from oos…but they applied much earlier than the deadline. I didn’t submit my app til Nov. 15.

Also, I’ve read the University’s opinion about the caliber of the student also affects the decision date. I.E., NMF and strong students will likely hear back more quickly.

I don’t know how much the caliber of the student affects decision date… I mean, I don’t mean to brag, but with a 2400 SAT, 4.0 GPA, and IB diploma candidacy, I’m still waiting to hear.

I havent heard either. why would u go to texas with a 2400 SAT?

All the good chemical engineering jobs are in Texas, haha :D

But yeah, UT isn’t really at the top of my list. It’s a nice safety/low match.

Because Texas is a great school, and its engineering program is amongst the best in the country

I’ve just heard caliber does affect in the long run.

I have a 35 ACT, 4.0 GPA and I am also waiting to hear.

has anyone else heard yet? and wen did yall send your applications I sent mine Nov 18th

If they’re going to reject me they better do it soon so I can send my deposit/housing app to Penn State.

Son sent app in on 10/25/09 and heard from college of natural sciences on 12-1-09. Submitted Plan II app on 11-11-09 and heard from them on 12-4-09. Son is a NMSF. Still haven’t heard from Dean’s Scholars of Turing Scholars which were submitted on 12-13-09.

Last year before my actual acceptance to the Engineering school came it said on the app status that I was guaranteed acceptance based on my qualifications sort of like the top 10%ers but OOS (34 act 4.0 gpa). I’m not sure what they base it on exactly.

My daughter applied on the deadline and heard today. She applied to Plan II and has not heard from it, so the admission is a general admission. It said it was pending the Plan II decision. Anyway, “general admission” was new to me.

it seems that most of the people who are hearing now have top-level stats. Mine are solid, but not top-level.
31 ACT 3.84 w/ 7th semester

Huh…so they do automatic out-of-state acceptance? I’m still waiting to hear back, but I did not apply for Plan II or anything of that nature.

^ no I never said that. I just said that the majority of acceptances have been kids who has far above average stats

Oh no jkaplan1212, I wasn’t directing that question at you.

athenos had posted on a previous page that he/she received automatic admission.
