Roundup takes place the last weekend of March. Incoming Freshmen(current HS seniors) from all over come for the weekend to Austin. Most of the Frats and sororities host parties and begin the recruiting process. There are things happening Friday night, All day Saturday, and Saturday night. Last year my daughter went to check out the school that weekend. Through a friend of a friend, she was introduced to a freshman girl who hosted her in Towers Dorm. The girl was assigned by her sorority to show my daughter a good time. I think there were five HS seniors staying in the suite. My daughter had a ball, made friends, checked out the greek scene, and decided to attend UT and go greek. She hung out with many of the kids she met that weekend at orientation. By the time school started, she knew many kids. As an OOS student, who knew no one before, this was a great process.

I believe that roundup is an unofficial event. It is sponsored by the greeks, not the university. This is the beginning of their recruiting process. If you are out of state, you can contact a sorority or frat, and ask if they can help you.
