If so can you please name the UC school you are attending and your GPA.
This will be so helpful, Thanks!

does cal state count in this thread?

sure go for it, but personally i wanted to know UC to UC because thats what I’m planning on doing in the future.

community colleges are always first priority. but if you know you will achieve a outstanding academic record, go for it.

i’m a civil engineer with a 3.51 gpa
im missing like 2-3 pre reqs.
i had no EC
my essay was my strongest point of the application.

I just got admitted to UCLA from…UC MERCED

w0000000000000t Im ■■■■ of here!!!

Hey Premed4life: Did you have all of your pre-reqs done, for psych?

"community colleges are always first priority. but if you know you will achieve a outstanding academic record, go for it.

okay we have almost identical apps, why didnt i get in?

uci 3.5 bioE/chemE
missing 3 pre reqs, but i have a lot of classes done that im suppose to take over there
lots of EC
i thought my essays were pretty good.

Guyy - if you had a lot of classes you had to take at UCLA I am assuming they came from a 4 year - did you go over the units?

yes, around 130.

Premed4life, congratz how was Merced?

Well that puts you over the units- how many came from a 4 year university? They will not take senior level transfers

Guyy - sorry but if you go over the 80 unit cap you are automatically rejected.

I learned that by calling and by being rejected.

i took about 110-115 units at uci and the rest are AP credit.

i think it is impossible or super hard to transfer from UC to UC for bioengineering. ive only taken 4 breadth class in my two years and all the rest are major class/ pre reqs and i still went over the limit. had i fulfilled all of the pre reqs i would have been way over limit. the classes i took that are not pre reqs and not breadth are under UCLA’s “recommended classes.”

ok, done with my rant.

blurry is that true? i applied with 96 credits.. and i really have no clue why i got rejected until i saw your post

btw there’s another thread on this topic
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/498666-any-other-uc-uc-transfers.html

-KwlAznKid

Yeah, sorry, but it’s true. The UCXX Rep told me that they let people with more than 80 units only in very special circumstances. In most cases, going over the 80 semester/120 quarter unit cap = senior standing = automatic reject coming from UC/CSU/ or any 4-year college.

This rule does not apply for CC transfers, though.

Blurry how many classes were u takin each quarter?

KwlAznKid is your school quarter system or semseter? because apparently its capped at 80 units in semester, according to Blurry.

i’m on a quarter system though, i got o ucsd so we’re on the exact same system as ucla i have 96 units here

meaning i should be fine! hahaha
maybe i just suck

Do those credits you get from AP tests count toward the units taken?
