<p>I am the guinea pig in my family.......my parents have not attended college so this is all new to us. I have finished my essay and the one person who read it really really loved it ,I trust she is someone who knows but I feel like I need the validation of someone else....is anyone here exceptionally qualified to give me their take? <p>You should try to complete your essay by yourself without any input from anyone else. The exception to this would be to check for major errors and spelling. Most colleges use the essay as a way to judge your writing skills, your ideas, your dreams and how well you will fit into their school. The essay is all about you…not about what other people think. Keep this in mind: College admissions people do know when an essay is highly edited and not from the student.</p>
<p>You can however get lots of tips from books, teachers and the internet without asking to have it read. My biggest tip: “Make it from the heart”</p>

<p>You are mistaking what I am asking for, my essay is DONE. I am not asking for anyone to touch it, I have worked far too hard for that. I am asking for someone’s opinion, someone who really has the ability to judge, perhaps a professor, english teacher,etc…just want their input about the subject, etc…</p>
