First week of April

i didn't put the paper SAT score report in my package, does that mean that my application materials wouldn't be read? if so will i be ignored or will i receive a "your-application-was-rejected-right-at-the-beginning" letter?

i'm really worried

Yeah, i am kind little bit worry about that

Decisions are sent in 2nd week of April

Hey, thanks. :) Where did you get that info?

waiting furiously

2nd week of april?? Isnt that too late.. will they send emails to internationals?? do you have any information??

This is the email i got :

CradleOfFilth,

We notify by e-mail, and we will not have decisions out until the 2nd week in April.

Best Wishes,

I know it is too late !!!

Thanks CradleOfFilth

2nd week of April is the deadline for the U.S. residents. Ah bit weird isn't it the e-mail u got seems like a mix up. But my GC had asked me to apply early around mid February instead of near April. I figure the decisions are rolling since their deadline is so late. It is a Christian campus, and a dry one so you guys better be goodie two shoes if you get in. And attending church is a big deal too. I been skipping church for so long or else I would hv submitted an extra rec from my church.
Nobody applied from my place except this one guy from a conservative family and broke like me :)

Oh yeah, if you guys are interested in Christian colleges with good aid, you should also look into Abilene Christian College and Alice Lyod is sort of on Berea's track with the co-op thing. But Berea is better in academics than Alice.
So few people applying from CC? Giving me inferiority complex since the other college I got in NJ doesn't even hv a thread in CC. Sob. At least I don't hv to deal with loans there and same goes for Berea.

Is it true that its easy to work for UN when you graduate from Berea? And if you guys get your decisions in April, then will the rest of us be getting them in May? No way, too late. I already hv too much waitlists to deal with.

I have some questions :). Berea is free, but we have to work right? So, what kind work is it? I heard this school is related to religion. Do I have to worship that religion? Thank you

I received an email saying that decisions will be out in the first week of April.
By the way one of my friends has already been accepted to Berea.
Does this automatically not exclude other internationals from the same country due to Berea's not taking more than 1 international student from any country.
Any ideas??I am getting mighty worried already.

About Berea's work program

Because the Berea College work program is considered part of our educational and financial aid programs, international students are able to participate even without work permits. Each student is required to work at least ten hours per week. Most international students work 15 - 20 hours per week and earn over $2,000 during the school year. Students may also remain in Berea during holiday periods and the summer months. During these times, students may work a full 40 hours per week .

Berea is very interested in the cultural diversity which international students bring to our campus and we strive to have students from all parts of the world. It is rare that more than one student from any country be offered admission each year.

This thing is really freaking me out.

Plz don't worry karkip, they don't have to select only 1 student from each country. Do you know Pigeonhole Principle :D . How did your friend get notified?

About the religious thing, I heard the Christian influence is quite strong on campus. But they say they are accepting to everyone. It is a conservative campus nonetheless. You will hearing a lot about Bible, scriptures, etc. Job thingy, so far I heard they rotate job shifts, work labor is hard, I don't know what is the difference between a normal campus part time job and this. I read the reviews saying its not for everyone, I dunno, but the academics are good top notch they say but quite competitive environment. And it is a LAC.
Honestly if some Berea students came here to give their perspectives, it will be cool.
So if you guys got into other schools, with aid, and Berea, which would you choose? Seems u two are pretty interested.
Obviously I am tempted by the academic strength thing, but if I choose this one public college I got into, no aid worries for me as well.

It depends on which school is it. If the other schools didn't give me a reasonable FA, I would choose Berea

Well my friend got accepted to Harvard too
So I hope I still have a chance.
Anybody else heard anything ?

Not at all. So is it 2nd week or 1st week of April?
Kardip, i read ur posts on International thread. Don't lose ur hope man, that is nothing. I took two gap year for studying English to apply US schools

Yeah, guys don't lose hope!!
Remember the college that takes you recognizes you for you really are and all your hard work. And that is the best school in your eyes. I bet in 4 years, we all will be debating grad school down in the CC forum.
Anywhere I found out the work at Berea involves running the school frm cleaning, maintenance, scrubbing, paper work, etc.
