and hear back yet? just wondering

Does UCR really reject students??!

yes they do. I know 2 people that applied as a transfer from a CC and got rejected.

acceptance rate is like 70% for freshman so people do get rejected

^The admission rate is 80%*

Yes people get rejected, but it is not usually due to competition. It is due to people not meeting the minimum requirements (3.0 UC gpa, 15-1600 SAT). According to UC procedures, you are guaranteed admission at UCR/UCM if you meet the minimum requirements.

As a transfer, everything is different. Transfers actually seem to get rejected if their stats are very high, because UCR figures they will not attend. It has happened a lot on the UC transfer forum.

80% admission rate is for freshman. Not sure what the rate is for transfer student.

The state budget crisis means UC is admitting less students this year. But at the same time, UC guarrantees admission to the top 12.5% of high school seniors. I don’t know how that’s going to work out. Maybe less freshman and more transfer?

haha 80% it is but its very possible to be rejected even though you’ve met your requirements. One of my neighbors have 3.5gpa, been in IB program and got rejected. Im guessing because her grades kept dropping every year.
