i’m still waiiting on my appeal status. who else heard back already?

still pending…

it seems like a lot of people got in, unlike 08’s

a lot of appeals this year got granted. but im still waiting on mines. :[
it seems theres no hope left - everyday i keep checking my email, but nothing. now it seems like i have to go to ucr. :[

^^ Aaaah D-: Im very sry to hear that! It sucks how UCI doesnt tell people things RIGHT AWAY. Kind of inconveniant -__-

I did the same thing as you, in fact you sound very eerily similary to me lol. I mentioned community service which was left out of my original application, and also we both have the same GPAs and SAT scores haha. I didn’t really falter at all so I mentioned how i stayed strong throughout senior year. Also I mentioned that I am going to be the first generation in my family to recieve a college education. Just fluffed it up a bit and I guess it worked.

still pending…did they release out a new batch of acceptances IF they didn get enough SIRs from last friday?

anyone receive an acceptance after July 2nd?

still no reply back… i want a definite answer, the wait is too much.

i got in through appeal, but i received my decision sometimes in late april. here are my stats

1780 sat I
720mathII
690physics
3.9 uc weighted gpa
not much EC, 50 hours of community service, violin, orchestra

anyone hear back after july 2nd?

ok so yesterday i finally called up uci admissions and asked them about my appeal status since it still said pending, the guy there said that he was sorry about the long wait but by this time it probably meant a rejection. so i took it in finally not worryin about it anymore, and acceptin that i would b happy at ucd. today i get an email sayin that i have been accepted and have until sept 14 to send in my SIR…i have no idea what to do. i guess im gonna see if i can still get housin for uci, if not then i wont go. did anyone else hear back ?? its weird since i got the email on a saturday

xcrunner1478 –
ultimately, it’s your decision >< I got in thru appeal too… early july -_-x , and… if you want to go through a lot of trouble just to sign up for classes (most of which are already full) and resend transcripts and stuff, by all means, go ahead! and about housing… TRUST ME- UCI will be happy to give you housing… they need the money, lol.

I just found out I got in too. No idea what to do since I already started community college. And aren’t classes already full at Irvine?

thanks so much for the info sachiko. could i still get into the classes durin pass 2 (the part where you waitlist for classes?). i didnt get into any of the classes i wanted at davis but i waitlisted for them in pass 2 and it looks like ill get them. does uci do that as well?

Would it be possible to still appeal to Irvine and get in with the amount of space they have on their campus?

Ok I appealed in may and I JUST got this email last night saying

Visit your MyAdmissionsApplication at UC Irvine to see that your appeal has been approved. In other words, you have been offered admissions to UC Irvine. Hopefully, you are still interested in attending UCI.

We realize that this decision is late and that you may already have committed to other opportunities at another fine institution. Understandably, this may be a better arrangement for your academic goals. However, if UC Irvine is still your preferred choice, you have until Friday, September 11, 2009 to submit your Statement of Intent to Register.

I commited to UCR already and just paid like 4k of tuition on friday. Suggestions on what to do? Is UCI that much better than UCR?

If i were you i would go to uci.
You can probably work it out somehow.

Yeah so I got my appeal yesterday too.
I’m just wondering if I do decide to accept (which I’m really lean towards right now)
Does anyone know what’s gonna happen regarding:
Orientation (since we missed it)
Housing (since we never signed up for it)
Class Sign-Up (since we didn’t get the chance to sign up for it)
Financial Aid (since we didn’t… whatever it is)
and this may only apply to me, but
The mandatory UC writing test (I decided to go a CC instead and didn’t take the test)

I think you should be calling them about that… on tuesday 8th
(I heard for housing theres space)
