PCCGAL-
No worries, just look at the second part of what I said. I'm sorry you were discouraged by my answer. You will be wasting your time with an appeal based on your "validictorian" (sic) status. It's not compelling to Cal. If you would like smoke blown up your ass and your head filled with false hope, might I suggest the AOL Teen Forumz. I hear they are like totally rad!

Mailed my appeal yesterday (last day). Has anyone who appealed heard back from Berkeley? Or are we expecting not to know until after June 15th?

In either case, I submitted my SIR to Davis - and I'll be happy with Davis if Cal doesn't reverse their decision.

andandy

i submitted it yesterday too. What mail did u use? I was gonna pay $16 for express mail but the guy there suggested me to go with priority mail

im scared its gonna take forever to get to ucb. i live in SF tho

I did Priority (USPS) with Delivery Confirmation(+$1.50) @ $9 from Los Angeles. I did Priority for my scholarships that I sent to San Francisco the last day and they postmarked them and all of them were accepted.

"acceptance" doesn't mean it's been delivered tho right?

it says acceptance when u track it?

No. That means the P.O. received it. I sent mine yesterday and it was delivered this morning. Your details on the usps website should look something like this if it was delivered.

Delivered, May 16, 2008, 9:06 am, BERKELEY, CA 94720
Arrival at Unit, May 16, 2008, 8:34 am, BERKELEY, CA 94704
Acceptance, May 15, 2008, 12:12 pm, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94104

by the way, anyone know when they will release the decisions for the appeals?

^I think June 15th?

"Your appeal for admission has been received and is under review. Please check this site regularly for a reply. We will do our best to post a decision by Monday, June 02, 2008."

That's what it says on myBerkeleyApp.

^Uh oh... it doesn't say that on mine... Mine hasn't changed from the initial thing from 4/30.

man... usps confirmation is useless!

i sent some documents to ucla with confirmation 2 weeks ago but it never changed from "acceptance" to anything. i was scared it was lost or something. then yesterday ucla mailed me back.

i also got confirmation for ucb appeal and it never changed to "delivered" but i just log on myBerkeley and it says my appeal has been received

no more confirmation! waste of $

Maybe acceptance does mean delivered. I had sent mine certified...

no i actually think there are three stages:

1 - acceptance. the PO receives ur mail
2 - processing. they are delivering the mail
3 - delivered. mail is delivered

but sometimes mailman forgets to scan confirmation so ...thats wot happened to me

Does everyone's my berkeley app say that the appeal package has been received?

My myberkeleyapp hasn't changed from april 30th :( should I be worried?

Mine hasn't been updated.

Teasphine, how long ago did you send yours in?

really?

mine says it has been received since saturday on myberkeley. i was thinking that it was pretty fast.

warrior - when did u send the appeal??

This is the same myberkeleyapp link? Can you send it to me - I'm sure it's the same one. When did you send yours UCBorUCLA?

So, were you all denied and now you ca file an appeal to be accepted?

i sent mine on May 15, last day!!, around 5 pm
