Anyone applied or been admitted for fall of 09?

Dd applied and is waiting for decision. She will be a photo student. Anyone else?

woo i did! i got in for communications design! but i found out at national portfolio day from the admissions counselor that interviewed me lol. so no official letter/packet yet =/

I will be applying for fall 2009 transfer to design and management. I am in the process of completing the Parsons Challenge!

I wonder are there more women than man in the program!? Any ideas!?

Wonder when they are mailing out decisions. Anyone know?

well i called on monday/tuesday? and they said i should hear within 10 days. im dyinggg to get it already!

Called this morning and they said we won't hear until Feb or MArch. Didn't sound right. Called back this afternoon and they said since application is complete, they might review it very soon.
So, I don't know what to think.

I received an e-mail at the beginning of the month saying letters would begin being mailed on the 26th of this month. That was Monday and so far nothing yet, but my fingers are still crossed. Needless to say, it has been a stressful week and with each day that passes that I haven't heard anything, my nerves increse little by little. Perhaps today..

We still haven't heard either.
We received that same email so hopefully, will hear this week.

Alright I finally received an acceptance for Design and Management for this fall! Best Valentine's Day gift ever! :)

My file was complete yesterday (Friday 2/20). Do anyone know when will I hear back? I applied to Design and Management as a transfer student.

anybody going for product design? i got my acceptance letter for parsons. trying to decide btwn SCAD, CCA, Mass Art and Pratt (maybe, haven’t heard yet on PRatt). i know parsons is great for fashion. how about product design?

silentvelcro… congrtz… when was your file complete? I haven’t heard back from Parsons yet. =(

I’ve been following this thread, hoping to find out something about when my D will hear from Parsons. Her application was complete at the beginning of January. I get different answers every time I call. So frustrating. It sounds like she hasn’t heard because she applied for the Parsons-Lang dual major (photography and liberal arts). Anyone else apply for the dual major?

My daughter has also applied for dual degree (photography/creative writing) and has not yet heard back from Parson’s-- I’m also wondering when they’re sending out decisions

They said 4-6 weeks from the time your application is complete. They also sent an email yesterday:

I am writing to advise you about the status of your application to Parsons The New School for Design.

As you are likely aware, your application for admission is complete. While we would like to notify you of our decision in the most timely manner possible, we want to ensure that we have given your admission file the most thoughtful consideration. We are wrapping up our main review cycle in the next two weeks, and plan to send decision letter by the first week of April for Fall 2009 admission.

We know that this is a very important decision for your future, and appreciate your patience while we are reviewing your application.

Warm regards,

David M. Norris
Director of Admission
Parsons The New School for Design

It’s good to know that we’re not alone. We didn’t get an email from Parsons. Wonder if that’s bad.

I’ve called Parsons, Lang, and the main admissions at New School, and emailed, too. I was told application complete, decisions in a couple of weeks (early Feb.); application complete, decisions 4-6 weeks; Parsons/Lang committee to meet soon, decisions in a couple of weeks; Parsons/Lang committee will meet in early April. ARGGHHHH!

D knows kids who have gotten accepted, including classmates from her pre-college class there last summer. That really rachets up the stress. None of them applied for the dual major, though. I guess that’s the holdup.

TwinMom73, my D is also looking toward photo/writing, she wants to be a photojournalist. May they both get good news soon.

Did anyone read the story about role reversals yesterday? Seems many college admissions offices are the ones sweating it out now, waiting to see if accepted kids choose them. The economy is driving a lot of students choose their state schools.

[The 6 New Rules Of College Admissions - The Daily Beast](http://www.thedailybeast.com/big-fat-story/2009-03-16/the-6-new-rules-of-college-admissions/)

Those of you who have been accepted, when is accepted students day? From the Facebook group of those who have been notified (a LOT recently), it sounds like it’s soon.

I also receive that same e-mail. Now I am all worried…

My daughter is awaiting a Parson’s decision and I’m shocked that the admissions group for the dual progam is not meeting until early April. She’s been accepted to SAIC with a small amount of merit money, SVA and also to UCLA’s Design/Media program, as well as UC Santa Barbara. You can’t beat the in-state tuition at the UC’s, and the Design/Media program is very competitive to get into. She’s going to need to get a fair amount of money from Parson’s/Lang in order for us to now consider sending her there.

Do you know how Parson’s will notify-- is it e-mail, online, or via snail mail only?

Hey guys,
I am also awaiting for my acceptance/rejection letter from Parsons and Lang.
I also applied for the dual degree (Communication Designs - Culture & Media).
Not sure where they inform you first though. But will definitely keep you guys posted.
