@haasmylove wow i completely forgot to share my stats lol!

GPA: 4.0
Pre-reqs: all done but calc 2, which is in progress
Breadth: 1 in progress, all done by end of spring 13
ECs: 3 clubs, hold positions in two currently; held a position in one last year (currently a member in the club)
Work experience (paid): 25-30 hours per week job and a tutor
Essays: it’s definitely difficult to judge your own essays, but hopefully i did ok or at least good enough to get in… i hope!
For the haas essay i wrote about questioning the status quo.

you all have amazing stats/ecs etc. i hope we all get in!! aaahhh!! :)

@haasmylove and comp100
you guys have really good gpas and ecs. i cant see why you wont get in…
my 3.8 seems super low compared to everyone’s 4.0 right now lol
how are we supposed to wait for another two and a half months?
the suspense is killing me!!!

I don’t know…I have heard from my friends that they emphasize more on the January update…but I think they do see the uc app…maybe they will just combine the supplemental application and uc application together and try to have a 3 dimensional analysis of the Haas applicants…just my thought@@…

@umairk27 most of the transfer students I’ve talked to had a 3.8-3.85 GPA. I think haas focuses a lot I. Essays if you’re over the 3.8 mark. And plus you’ve already completed Calc 2 which is really good, I know I definitely wouldn’t have a 4.0 if i completed calc 2. i hope they read the UC application though, cuz I think my UC app essays were stronger than my Haas one. Pushing through these next 2 months is gonna be so tough!!

@ comp100
You are right. I just received an email from CAA saying they have mistakenly sent out invitations to transfer applicants, the application period for us actually starts on May 1.

Awwww…I only got the leadership scholarship email! Does that mean Haas only sends Alumni Scholarship invitation to the predetermined applicants? :(

@emprex did you apply this year?
But I heard that even 4.0 gpa students get rejected even with all the requirements met. So that’s why I am so worried. I get so terrified every time I see that only 91 students were accepted out of 442 last year. That’s crazy!!

I think the 4.0s that were rejected were actually the ones missing the 7 course breadth. In the past, if you were missing the breadth, your app was automatically tossed which would explain 4.0s getting rejected.

Good news is that I don’t think the breadth is required this year. Ms Sun has a great blog and states here:

[Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog - Changes to Haas Transfer Admission Requirement](Error)

So you guys are all in good shape. I’m applying for econ but expecting rejection. At the end of the day I’ll be happy with any UC :)

I don’t have all the breadth finished by Spring…
Don’t be so sad! You will get into Econ! Econ admit rate is like 23% or so, but haas is 3 times harder to get in.
Honestly, some nights I think I should have chosen Econ instead of haas…I just want to feel secured
But it is okay. UC is only a stepping-stone…It won’t kill me if haas rejects me :)
