I’ve never heard of someone getting their alternate choice after Haas denies them. I think that’s more if your choices are in the same school, like L&S.

LOL. I think I might actually have a better chance at Haas than Biz-Econ at UCLA. Just checked their stats for Fall 2012 and the average GPA admitted was 3.92.

Its so funny, the thread started after everyone submitted their supplement. Ah the competitive business students. So here is my story, I was a Bio-Chem major in CCC. I didn’t go to any UC’s from high school cause I don’t have a green card and didn’t want to get into a lot debt by taking a credit card loan. Judging from all the 4.0’s I think I have low shot. Here is my stats
GPA 3.75 (The only 2 B’s are my 2 chem classes)
Prereqs : Taking Calc 3 ( Haas won’t accept AP CALC BC score of 4 to waive Calc 1), Intro to Business . Other ones are done
Breadth: Will finish only 4 by spring but I took like 10 AP tests, passed all of them
EC: Secretary of Business & Analysis Class Club, Secretary of Chem club, Internship at local business, Tutoring math for a tutoring company, Worked at Best Buy & Fry’s Electronics
Essays: I think they are good, in supplement wrote about questioning the status quo and how I can do it better.

The wait is killing me. We should all post our admission decision on April 26 ( the day my dream will come true or get shattered)

@Rafsun
Whoa, you worked in Fry’s too? I’m also a former fry’s associate, and now a Haas applicant as well. When did you work there? I wonder if we worked at the same time, haha.

@Rafsun

Is that Intro to Business class currently in progress? If not, I am afraid that is grounds for an automatic rejection :(

@collgekid45

that is not true. as long as all the prereqs are finished by the end of springs, its okay

lets keep our hopes up! haas 2013!!! :)

@countofmc

thats why I said in progress! :)

oops my fault, i read it wrong, hehe :)

@collgekid45 Yea its in progress, that class is a joke. I feel like I can teach it lol Do you think since its “in progress” puts me at a disadvantage? Since I changed my major, I had to plan everything within a year.

@UCLawBiz I worked there in 2011 around fall. I hated there, they treat you like ****! I was upgraded to Salesperson still I hated it. What about you? how was your experience? I worked at the Canoga Park Fry’s. How about you?

@Rafsun: Good to know. Nah, I wouldn’t say so cause you will get it done in time. What community college do you go to?

@collegekid 45: I am going to santa monica college, you? Are you shooting for any privates?

@Rafsun: Moorpark. The only private I applied to was USC.

Hey guys, I created a post for Haas transfers. Check it out:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1490584-official-uc-berkeley-haas-transfer-fall-2013-a.html

Had I applied during this application cycle, I would have definitely wrote about “Confidence Without Attitude.” I would discuss about how awesome I am and that I intend to work in ibanking. I possess both the confidence and attitude to do whatever it takes to become filthy rich. My arrogance is only surpassed by my intelligence, good looks, and charm.

Although it is not completely impossible to succeed in banking with the “Confidence Without Attitude” principle, it is much more difficult. Since Haas has taken the position of adopting this principle, I will try my best to use my time at Haas to learn from it.

For instance, I will not answer every question during lectures in Cheit. I will allow my fellow classmates to chime in with their opinions, and then I will play devil advocate to show them why they are wrong and force them to accept my answer. I will also empower my teammates to do the bulk of the work for each assignment. I will do the final review to correct their mistakes and everyone will receive an A+. This is a win-win situation for my teammates and I; they get homework practice while learning from their mistakes and I have free time to read my WSJ at Strada Coffee and ponder about how I will splurge my wealth. I will also deliberately leave a few exam questions blank so that I do not completely destroy the curve. I will also take longer to complete each exam so that I am the first person to leave the room, thus intimidating all of my peers.

I will graduate one year later as a Valedictorian, a University Medal Recipient, and a Rhodes Scholar. I will have multiple job offers from firms such as Barclays, Blackstone, GS, DB, CS, etc. At my commencement speech I will suggest to my Haas colleagues to drop this silly principle.

Good luck with your applications everyone! Go Bears!

Lol class A ■■■■■ well done

Except this ■■■■■ already has a Haas diploma.

So 10 more days…

dying #cantwait #justtellmealready #losingsleep #yesimusinghashtags

So nervous, especially after reading everybody’s awesome stat here. Personally, I have so much riding on this. Still, gotta be ready for whatever outcome it’s going to be…

Good luck to all!
