I'm just getting all my stuff into the school. Anyone want to share anything about the school, stats, etc. I just wanted to get this thread started up ;)

hey - i applied, was accepted. i actually won a scholarship to the college of engineering and applied sciences from a research project i did last year, so yeah. boulder's pretty much a safety for me, i really want to go east for school - trying to get into upenn!! i'm in state for cu tho, and i don't know what admission stats are for out of staters... where are you? good luck!

Please look up "Ward Churchill". He is a tenured professor who is a radical that preaches hate.

^ um.... PLEASE tell me you're kidding. i just looked up and read everything i could find on this man, and i honestly hope that your characterization of a "radical that preaches hate" is facetious. from what i've read, Prof Churchill has simply come forward and stated that violence breeds violence - words that our entire culture would do good to take to heart - and, to quote him quoting martin luther king quoting robert kennedy : Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable. his point is that "we cannot allow the U.S. government, acting in our name, to engage in massive violations of international law and fundamental human rights and not expect to reap the consequences."

remom, if this is preaching hate, then i dread to see what preaching peace or love would look like.

Show some respect. Prof Churchill is a known and accomplished professor and has every right to share his views on the world as he sees it. the man served in vietnam, for god's sake, he's not ADVOCATING hate. He's pointing out that when our country violates international law and human rights because our power lets us, we can hardly expect peace in return. He's stating that the way to fight terrorism is with food and education because this form of violent expression is a desperate plea for help, and that fighting a violent war on violence itself is ridiculous and could not be further from helpful.

i, for one, think this is a message of peace. i, for one, agree with him.

Wow...nice broad statement..."a radical that preaches hate." I am assuming that you are refering to his essay comparing 9-11 victims to Nazi leaders...although this point is over the top, he was making a point about society and not personally attacking the victims or their families...
