<p>No… you’re not the only one! (HS counselor didn’t give online approval for the ED1 app)</p>
<p>There are a lot of pieces to the ED agreement, so this kind of omission must be fairly common. The h.s. counselors need to be on top of it all. Sounds like Pomona is giving us a few days to complete the documentation before they read through the files another time.</p>
<p>I’m glad they’ve updated us. It’s a relief to get the confirmation after these few weeks of waiting.</p>

So excited! I really hope they take that holistic approach. Otherwise it’s about to be occupy Pomona. I’m scheduled to go down and visit about a week after we get word on our admission status, so I hope it’s an I’m-overjoyed-because-I-got-accepted visit, rather than a what-can-I-do-to-get-in-PLEASE visit

<p>Happy Thanksgiving, all! (At least those of us in the U.S.!) Hope everybody has a few days off and a chance to recuperate from the demands of these recent months!</p>
<p>My son applied ED1 also. It’s a long shot, but I have looked at many stats and they seem to hand-pick many kinds of kids. I really appreciate it. I asked our tour guide why he chose Pomona over Brown, etc. He said he liked the support of the professors and the way the kids converse during class. Lots of class discussions in very small classes.</p>
<p>I know what you mean, MindySue! My S sat in on a couple of classes and responded to the intellectualism within a close community.</p>
<p>On one of the days we visited, there was a large group of boys waging nerf wars around the campus, clearly having a grand time. S almost left the tour to go join them!</p>
<p>He thought it was a terrific combination of work and play, overall.</p>
<p>Anyone else care to share what first drew you (or, if a parent, your S or D) to Pomona?</p>
<p>we needed help getting around campus, because our map was not very detailed for some reason. all the students were remarkably helpful and friendly, to the point of walking out of their way to take us to our next destination. S thought they were bright AND happy, as opposed to bright and tortured, which he had seen elsewhere.</p>
<p>My homeroom teacher has this book that has weird rankings for colleges, and Pomona was number one for “Day Runs Like Butter” and “Happiest Students” :)</p>

my friend says Pomona does, but Im not sure if he is only trying to get me nervous or if he’s speaking the truth.</p>
