anyone applying for 2010 for business major?

how many of you are applying to sdsu for the business major? any for those who are currently attending, can you share some insight?

i plan to apply. but it’s definetly my backup. btw, you know any info regarding how the CSU’s stack up for their biz programs? i hear CPSLO and SDSU are supposed to be excellent.

Nujabes is sick… battlecry from samurai champloo and his song feather! amazing beats with some great lyrics.

Anyway, yeah the SLO business admin or entrepeneurship programs and the SDSU Business programs are the top two by far.

At SDSU the marketing, business admin, and entrepeneurship programs all seem to be pretty good… but the international business program is what is really amazing. There are several dual/triple degree programs that you can come out of with a degree from US+Mexico, US+Canada, US+Chile, US+Brazil, or US+Mexico+Canada… But obviously that beyond the effort that most students are willing to put in to school it seems.

There’s also an International Business honors society. The requirements are fluency in English and another language, as well as a minor in a third language (basically fluency in three languages). I think you also need to maintain a 3.5.

So I think that while the average CSU business program can’t really compete with a BizEcon from UCLA or Business from Haas at UCB, there is plenty of room for you to force yourself to be competitive/ more advanced than graduates from either of those other schools. But then it’s more on you to push yourself to those levels rather than be forced by the average classes offered.

yeah more like nujabeast!! lol you should try Nomak, Fat Jon, Dj Deckstream, Colossus. =]

since my post, i decided that CSULB would work best for me. If i can get into USC sure!!

I will be apply for Fall 2010 as a transfer. Does anyone know if I am required to take FIN 240 , IDS 180, and IDS 290? They do not offer it at my community college.

The more courses you complete to fulfill your major’s lower division requirements, the better chance you have of being admitted. This is especially true if you are outside of the “service area.” Are you in San Diego county?

The three courses you have listed are:
FIN 240 = Business Law
IDS 180 = Intro. Information Systems
IDS 290 = Business Communications

You will eventually have to complete these courses, either at a separate community college or at SDSU, if/when you are admitted. At SDSU you will be pre-business and not be allowed to officially declare a business major until you successfully complete these courses.

Try this website to check which courses at your school, if any, are transferable/equivalent to SDSU’s requirements: [SDSU Transfer Admission Planner (TAP)](Transfer Admission Planner)

I suggest clicking “Search for transfer courses to meet SDSU preparation for the major and required GPA” and going from there. While there, you can see whether other community colleges around you do offer the courses.

Good luck!

^

Those classes are not offered at my college AND I do not live in the San Diego country. I wonder what my chances are getting in…with a 3.4 / 3.5 GPA
