I'm applying this fall and was just curious if there is anyone out there from the midwestern states doing the same? I didn't notice alot of Minnesota, Iowa, or Nebraska dots on the map.

Can't answer your question directly, but you'll find students from all over the country at Pomona and all the Claremont schools. I believe about 1/3 or so are from the west coast.

it'll serve to your advantage to be applying from a low-represented state, trust me. us californians are at a disadvantage, which is a fair trade for those of us who refuse to leave the perpetual socal summer.

In the Class of 2009, there are nine students from Minnesota, one student from Nebraska, and none from Iowa. That said, you can't rest on your laurels because you will be compared against the entire applicant pool.

Good luck!

hey I'm applying from Kansas

i'm a kansan, too. alas.

There was only one student from Kansas in the Class of 2009. That doesn't mean, though, that others were accepted. Good luck!
