Anyone applying here?

I got in with a 3.25 and a 1370. I have really good ECs, but I dont know how much those count. I think your good.

I'm applying RD, my boyfriend goes there and loves that (note, this is not my reason for applying, it's actually a negative mark on the school)

regarding the parties, my boyfriend doesn't drink and winds up nursing his drunk friends every weekend night. I don't think the on campus parties are huge, but there're definately a bunch of small ones in dorms with lots of alcohol everynight, and the frats (not recognized by the university) have a bunch off campus

I'm applying!

My son is applying or has applied (not sure of the status of his aps). My cousin's son transfered after one year--he said it was "too commuter" for him; lots of CA folks attending, especially those living near campus. I was impressed when we visited & it appears my son was because he decided to apply.

I applied RD but i am a bit worried

3.75 weighted GPA
1410 Composite SAT
and only 3 AP by graduation
160 Hours of Community Service

what are my chances? for scholarships and stuff?

Just sent in my app. I got into Stanford, but if I get a good scholarship from SCU I might end up there (Stanford wasn't generous with aid).

judge: you're in.

Editing to add that you will probably at least get a relatively generous grant.

I believe 1350 is scholarship cut off, so you are good!

thanks! my mom was all worried that I wouldnt even get in.. argh Asian parents

somebodynew-wow good work on stanford. i was gonna apply there but i felt i had no chance, even with a legacy. just curious, what are your stats?

Seeing as the last post was a question to me, I'll answer it, albeit a month later.

Filipino male from MD (born in Cali though - it's calling me back lol)
2070 SAT (710M/730V/630W)
33 ACT (34E/34M/34R/30S) 8 on the essay (shame)
95 cumulative average (we don't do GPA at my school)
Took 5 APs this year ::slaps self in the face::
Ended up with about 160 hours of community service fulfilling my school's requirements
I run cross country and track, and I'm in a coupla other clubs
Piano for 10 years (cough)

I want to double major in MechE (science nerd) and English (yet artsy-ish). SCU is highly ranked in engineering in the West, not to mention that it is BEAUTIFUL. It's also Jesuit, and I've grown to like the atmosphere at a Jesuit school (and the female-male ratio at SCU sure as hell beats my all-guys school.)

Oh well, I guess I have to wait until April.

I applied to Santa Clara University.

My son just got into Engineering with distinction & a half tuition scholarship. He's ranked about the middle of his class; weighted GPA a bit over 3.7 (weighted), SATI 2230, ACT 34, highest SATIIs 750-800, Eagle Scout. He applied RD. No word about honors college or NMF scholarship, but he just sent them a letter that he was awarded NMF.
