Thanks for the tip, D’s Mom. If I read correctly they can’t determine anything re merit/financial aid without our 2009 taxes.

Guess I’ll have to send those in ASAP.

“Denied admission”

:(

Just wanted to say that we didn’t have info on financial aid an hour ago, but we do now (after clicking “services”), so anyone waiting may want to check.

I got my acceptance package today! I was SO happy - until I saw the tentative financial aid offer…

I have no idea how to log on. I don’t even have a PioneerWeb account! I never got any information about that.

Ditto Proletariat. Does this mean we are rejected?

No, because even the rejected people have these accounts! Plus, with a 36 ACT and fairly good accomplishments elsewhere (Intel STS, etc.), I didn’t think I’d be rejected. Maybe they rejected me for my obscene arrogance in assuming I wouldn’t get rejected. That would be truly sad, although I admit it would be kind of justified…

I also got email confirmation that they received my entire application, so that isn’t the issue.

I think a lot of people’s PioneerWeb information got sent to their spam folders. I have Gmail, and that’s what happened with me. You should both check!

my parents cleared out our spam a week ago. :(

to doughmom - Thank you so much! I never noticed the “services”…btw, it’s great, cos I reveived almost 35 grand, which means that I will be able to go there (probably…)!

My log-in email came from Nettie Vaverka at VAVERKA@grinnell.edu

So you might want to start there, toshi

Anyways, I’m really surprised, because I was told that Grinnell is not very generous and it really doesnt look like that…

D was offered merit scholarship, a very generous one! Unexpected, as we don’t qualify for need based aid. This is a first among all the schools which accepted her, and makes it very, very hard to consider the others (including Carleton, Bryn Mawr, WashU). Thanks, Grinnell!

S was offered a nice combination of need and merit scholarships.

good new for our S. makes grinnell very hard to pass up. thank you grinnell!

Could you please write your kids’ GPA and SAT, just to have an idea what kind of students get merit scholarship. Thank you.

SAT: 2140
ACT: 33
SAT II: Math I, 720; Lit 740
GPA: W 4.2, U 4.0
NM Finalist, enough but not a lot of AP, the usual other stuff…(did not win Siemens or co-author any important legislation, though).

Yeah, that. If it got sent to my spam, the mail is long gone - my spam clears itself out every 30 days. Am planning to write to someone.

But is there any way to find out our user name and/or password by ourselves?

For example, some colleges had my real name (like: HLewis) as the user and birthday as the password. Is it like this for Grinnell?

Thanx inatlga.
I got very similar stats, guess they probably think that my need-based scholarhip is high enough :-D

Ds is in with good merit/FA, he tells me. I haven’t looked at that yet.
