I'm not. At MOST I'll apply to Cornell, UPenn and Columbia.

But are you? Do you know anyone who is applying to every ivy league school?

What schools are you applying to (ivy and non-ivy)?

when I apply, I’ll prob apply to all except Dartmouth and prob Brown

I know a friend who is applying to all Ivies, with RICE as his safety… I told him you probably want more safe safety, but hey, he does have some pretty good qualifications.

Wow mowmow… that kid is ridiculous! As good as his credentials might be, he has a lot of guts and must be a pretty cocky dude. He better pray he gets into one. You never know with those schools. He could be in at them all or out at them all.

I will apply to Dartmouth and Brown. Probably, it’ll end up being only one of them =]

I’m applying to four of 'em.
Harvard, UPenn, Cornell, and Yale

Yeah, it’s just crazy thinking that someone would apply to 8 ivys when most kids apply to about that many schools total. Then you have to add in “match” schools and “safety” schools. Think of all of the time, effort, energy, and MONEY that goes into applying to all of those colleges!

I’m hedging my bets and applying to all except Cornell.

I think a lot of international students probably do. Not me, though - just for the record.

I’m applying to:
Harvard, Brown, UPenn, Columbia

Just Brown. Even if I get in, I won’t go. I just want to be able to say (hopefully) that I got in. :)

Wow, applying to all eight is ambitious! I’ve never talked (or heard) of any American students applying to all eight schools, but I’ve spoken to one international student that applied to all of the Ivies along with UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Stanford. I can’t imagine doing that. When the time comes, I’m only going to apply to Brown out of the Ivy League schools. I’ll be applying to a few UC schools as well. I haven’t decided on any others yet.

I wonder what would happen if the person was admitted to all of them. They’ll be like “I got accepted to ALL the ivy league schools”. That never happens though.

I bet a few ppl each year get in at all

Cornell
Princeton
Maybe Columbia or Penn

Wow. What the hell? Tell your parents applying to all 8 Ivy League schools is a ridiculous idea and only really image-conscious and materialistic people do it.

Aww Pokesurfer good luck.

Why would somebody want 8 rejections?

I applied to six, but I’m Canadian so it’s kind of different. No point applying to safeties or matches in the States if I can just go to McGill or something + I need aid so a lot of privates are out of the question and the need-blind LAC’s didn’t really appeal to me.

Pacificvista- it does happen. A girl who graduated in 06’ from my school got into EVERY single ivy. She was first waitlisted at Harvard, but they ended up accepting her. She was not a minority either. It was funny, because after she got a few acceptances, she totally forgot about which schools she had and had not checked. So someone would be like, woh did you find out about Yale, and she’d be like “hmm… don’t remember… maybe.” After the first 4-5, she would just check and be like “yeah, I guess I did get in.” She was one of my sister’s best friends and I think my sister was more than a little jealous, ha, but she supported her. The girl chose UPenn in the end. :)
