Anyone applying to Canadian universities?

dash - McGill's out of my league because I don't have the GPA for me; and I don't have IB Math Higher which is either required or recommended for those going into science stream. :(

I applied by OUAC to Carleton Uni, York, Toronto and Brock. Hee. I received the acknowledgement packets from Carleton, York and Brock. Waiting for Toronto's, and when I get back in school in Jan, I'll send my transcript along with first semester grades. Whooo!

same here...submitted my application online...

btw...is McGill realli strong in Economics and Engineering???

Izzy I've sent an email to mcgill and they've told me that IB standard math would be acceptable to the science program in Mcgill.
I think you've mixed it up with A-level math which they want from you if you're from Britain.
I would think about it if I were you

Hmmm...thanks. Must've gotten confused. But my G.C. will kill me if I added another school to my list. I already got 10 US ones, amd the 4 OUAC ones. Not to mention the Aussie ones!

hahah; similar situation with 13 US ones, 2 OUAC, and im thinking about McGill!!

Wow, I thought my 14-school list was way too long. Now I feel little relieved to see some ppl like me.
(13 US, 1 Canada)

ETHeReaLkEv, which two for OUAC?

We're all insane, I think...

yes we are:D

hm. Queens and UofT, just for the sake of my friend who's applying to those two. Well Canadian applications are way... easy, compared to the American ones. I'm not worried about Canadian ones too much. I mean, even if it mean's i'm being a bit cocky, if apply to them, I'm probably gonna be in.

Haha, I am applying to Canadian universities :D well I am Canadian
Waterloo Bioinformatics/Pure Math
Toronto Biochem/Math (I heard they have lectures of 1000 ppl at once!)
Queens Biochem/Math split major
McGill Biochem/Math double major
I go to one of Waterloo's feeder schools and get involved with Waterloo's math contests and what not, so Waterloo Math is kinda my safety. If you wanna get into Waterloo math, do well on the Euclid, 'cause they look at that as a huge bonus.

I'm also applying to the following:
MIT, Harvard, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn
for roughly the same programs. My SAT IIs aren't that spectacular (MIIC800P760C730), and I'm still waiting for my SAT I scores. :P
Hope I get into any of the Americans, if not Canadian for me.

yeah euclid's big for waterloo I guess. I screwed up the one in my junior year. I slept in, arrived the class late... I got sixty...something I dun remember. just top 25% thing. It sucked...:( The other waterloo contests were better I guess. Like Gold awards for everything... Cayley my school team got 2nd national~! w00t Neways. Good luck on your apps. I'm not such a math/engineering person, but i took IIC, chem and physics for SATII's as well.. I dunno... I hope they're not gonna look at them badly cuz i only took science ones.

ahhh i'm so confused. how competitive is it to get into mcGill exactly? i know i have the sat score for it (2190 - math 780, verbal 750, cr 660) but i don't know about my gpa, which is around a 3.6. the only reason it's so low is because i'm enrolled in a really challenging ib program, which has been killer to my gpa. now i'm really worried. :-( does anyone have admission statistics for candidates from the us??

mcgill has lots of interest in your ib points.
im not sure about mcgill but for queen's, the ib points barrage was 31, and overall everyone with 31 was accepted. i estimate that mcgill is about 35-36?
and stefanimaniac i think your sat are pretty decent,
if you get your ib score high you should get in :)
