ANYONE APPLYING TO SCIENCE PHD PROGRAMS?? help please...

Hi, I am an international student from the Caribbean. I received my undergrad degree from Grinell College, and now I'm doing an MA in biology at the City Univeristy of New York, city college. I have a 3.4 undergrad GPA, and a 4.0 masters GPA. I also have a lot of research experience in my field and have very high GRE scores.

My goal is to get into a biology PHD program in Europe (UK, Belgium, Germany, or Netherlands)....
Do i have a chance of gaining admission and funding anywhere in one of these countries? Are connections the only way to stand out? Anyone out there currently in the process of applying to science PHD programs in Europe?

In many European countries, students need to find a dissertation adviser before they can apply for admission to a PhD program. Aspiring PhD students typically complete their Master’s degree at the university they hope to get their PhD from, and use the time in the Master’s program to find a dissertation adviser. European students are done with all of their coursework after the Master’s degree; PhD students do research only.

That’s assuming you are looking at native universities in European countries (not international universities).
