Anyone applying to the Wesleyan Freeman Scholarship?

Anyone? What country are you from? :)

me from Singapore. u?

me from Vietnam :D But I'm not sure as I'm still waiting for my ED notification :D

hmm hlvietlong where r u ed-ing to?

from the Philippines :) how are your applications going?

not very good.. juz called my form teacher to ask if she could write my recs dis morning and she mistook me for another person... u?

@woebegone: I'm applying ED to Williams, but not much chance of getting admitted :(

hmm... there's always some glimmer of hope... so dun give up. but since its already over u shd try to concentrate on other apps so that u won't too flustered and overwhelmed with them if u do get ur rejection/deferral in dec... touch wood

Give up?Give up what?Waiting?Absolutely not, you'll have to wait. And why be so pessimistic once you applied ED?;) .Good luck, hlvietlong :)

erm dun give up hope i mean...

I did have a second thought of ED-ing to Colgate, where my brother's current studying at due to my schoolwork pressure. :) But finally I chose Williams ! :) Thank you guys for all the encouragement

I might be applying. It depends. I do know they prefer those who are staying in their home countries so... shrug And it's oodles of money to fly back home from here if I do become a finalist. sigh

I'm stuck on the essay. About how I think a Wesleyan education would help me help my home country or such...I'm not very home-country-ish.

Yeah, that topic is really hard (just like Amherst's essays). How to avoid using slogans or cliches in such a topic

Hello!

I'm from Malaysia... Also having trouble with essays. :)

Hey, another Malaysian! Welcome abroad CC, enilit!

Thank you, IzzyJ! Hm, didn't know you're Malaysian...

Yeah, I'm a bumiputra in Romania. points to the left :D

Another Malaysian here.........

Anyway, i have a question regarding eligibility. Do we have to be in the final year of A-level or equvalent course to apply? That's what it says in the website but there was someone from my school who got the scholarship but he was only doing his lower 6. I couldn't figure out if they'd changed the rule or it's still possible to apply....

Wow. Usually I hear it's A Levels or STPM that you're supposed to be studying before you can apply. Maybe you should email and ask? (Are you in Form 6?)

thx IzzyJ, I'm in lower 6 now....but i won't be taking STPM.
