Pretty dead forum, but I was wondering if anyone was applying ED,EA or RD this year. Drew was a last minute find (well a friend told me about it) and I was impressed with it when I visited this fall. It also seemed to have a lot of scholarships listed in their pamphets, but I realize those are limited and amounts weren't given. Some schools had just merit awards, so it was nice to see both. I hope to hear back by mid-December with their special application and have one decided, hopefully an acceptance.

Hi BRJ-CT... my son has applied to Drew too. Hopefully, you will both be hearing back from them in about 2 weeks if you used their Dean's Choice Application :-)

Good Luck!

Thanks, good luck to your son too. I did do that application and I hope to hear by the holiday's. I have 2 or 3 colleges I'd be happy going to, but unfortunately money will be an issue. I really liked Drew though and would be happy there if I could attend. I wish the state colleges in my state were more attractive to me, but sometimes you can get better deals with a private college.

I was very happy with my merit money from Drew and its a great school.

I got my EA acceptance email today. It was funny, because my mom just asked me about hearing from Drew and the email popped up. One down, 5 to go, but it feels good to have this one.

I applied Dean's Choice to Drew, and I was so scared because I got an email saying I was accepted Early Decision. But then they "revised" it with Dean's Choice. I've recently started looking into it, though (silly not to have done that before applying), and it really is a good school. Especially for me, because I want to do a lot of theatre.

Yay! My son was also accepted to Drew yesterday via E-mail!! It was funny for us too (BRJ-CT) because we too had just been talking about it - and then it popped up on the computer! :-)

He will definitely be going to Drew, as it was ED.

i know most of the drew theatre kids and they are a talented bunch. the professors are top notch and cool, and the new arts center is a great space

I just got into Drew EA the other day too. It was weird on email because it said revised and I never got the email saying early decision. So I figured they mustve rejected me, then admitted me.

perhaps they just forgot you then admitted you. although i did get rejected and accepted letters from one school, so you never know. anyway, congrats on drew... great place.

We got a "revised" email after an error in sending us an ED acceptance instead of EA. They might of sent you one of those thinking they inadvertently sent you one too. I was just happy it wasn't our error and my son got admitted. It was one of two schools he felt a "fit".

I applied using the Dean's Choice application and was accepted. I was also given a merit-based scholarship of $14,300. I'm still waiting to hear from five other schools, so I don't know if I'm going, and won't know until spring.

whats ahead of drew on your list of five?

I also applied to TCNJ, Connecticut College, Trinity College, Washington and Lee, and William and Mary-W&L is my favorite! I do like Drew a lot, though. I'm going to wait and see where else I get in, and then figure it out. Where else are you applying?

got some good picks... well i actually am not applying to drew, i already went there. im going back to school, either to american u, oberlin or a school in switzerland

Drew gave me 16,000 so far in a scholarship but im still leaning to my other schools.

tulane and binghampton over drew?

Son got his acceptance yesterday. $18,360 merit award. Where do they come up with these numbers.

Not sure where he is going yet.

Good question sassyone... seems like everyone accepted has received some recognition merit money :-)... I'm assuming it is based on high school gpa since they no longer require the SAT.

It's really nice about the merit money... it came as a complete surprise to us as we did not fill out financial aid paperwork, etc.

What other schools is your son considering? First choice?

My son is undecided at this point.

He really loves the University of Maryland Baltimore County and was accepted. He has applied to the University of Maryland College Park but won't hear until February. There is also another local college that he is interested in and he should hear shortly, Villa Julie.

He is going to go up to Drew in January and met with some people to either say yes or elminate the school.
