I visited UCSB this summer and I loved the campus and the college of creative studies which I'm applying to. I'm a composer.

heck yeah i am :), good luck to both of us. Its a great school that is sadly shadowed by somewhat of a party rep.

gl! I'm applying to! what are your stats (if you don't mind sharing)?

I'm applying too.

I'm applying =D

I'm applying to the college of creative studies too for chemistry

I haven't visited the campus, but a few people I know and some books i've read tell me UCSB is for white middle class kids, even though most of the undergraduates are caucasian, do they still lack diversity? Thanks

I visited there a few weeks ago and its obvious that they lack diversity. Also, my brother goes there, and he's told me that a number of times.

Thanks for the reply
That narrows my search down to the only other UC I applied to, Davis

I applied there, it is definitely my number one choice. My stats are middle of the road, but I do a lot of EC's and hopefully they like my essays. Where do you guys go to high school?

i was going to apply to the creative studies college except... i didnt want to do the portfolio thing. i know, i know, i'm lazy, but i figured i could try transfering in if i got in and ended up going..

about the diversity, while UCI can be considered more diverse, its kind of counteractive diversity where there are almost all asians.. not that thats bad, im asian, but its not exactly diverse

same here, except my grades are good but my score are horrible. Hopefully, my EC's will help me as well. I actually go to school in san ramon.

I'm applying to the College of Creative Studies, too, on the mathematics emphasis.
The way they let you do advanced research works perfect for me.

Anybody else applying to UCSB?

Yep, as a transfer student with their guaranteed transfer program for community college students. My major is political science.

Yay! But there should be more ppl applying to UCSB.
or is it just like ppl said, those ppl are too busy partying everyday or something?

Heh, not me. High school was kind of dull, and community college has been even duller. I'm hoping for a more exciting time at UCSB :)

I'm applying too. It's my first choice...I'm even considering going to SBCC if I don't get in.

does anyone know if poeple still get in without giving the third sat 2
I gave writing math1c and 2c but havent given science or language

I don't think SAT II is required at UCSB.
