Hi, I was wondering if any CURRENT students or Alums could tell me if anyone with a GPA around a 3.5-3.7 gets into Stanford. Also, would the other factors in your application outweigh the low GPA?

Thanks to all those who respond.

I was a 3.7 after all A’s my senior year, so I was probably a 3.55-3.6 or so when I applied early a couple years back. So yeah there’s a few of us lurking around.

3.73! and I got in!

^ What were your test scores?

For those who got accepted into stanford, do you know if grades are really a deal breaker if you aren’t exactly a top student and aren’t as competitive as other applicants in the academics department? What do the admission counselors say about this?

Generally speaking, grades/scores/other academic criteria within the lower quartiles of accepted-student stats must be balanced by one or more hooks or other factors that make the student more desirable: legacy; URM and/or first-generation; residency in a state underrepresented in the student body; truly exceptional artistic, philanthropic, athletic or similar accomplishment, etc.

3.71 and got in :D
