Anyone auditioning at UMich on Jan. 25th?

We are off to our daughter’s first audition at Michigan on January 25th! It’s so exciting – but it all makes ME nervous! I don’t post too often, but I absolutely LOVE reading all your messages every day, and as a result, I feel like I know some of you vicariously through the CC boards! Are any of you (or your sons or daughters) auditioning in at UMich on the 25th? I would love the chance to chat with during the time we sit, wait, and bite our nails.

As I’ve mentioned before, we don’t know anyone else personally who is doing what we’re all doing in this audition process. All my daughter’s friends are happy to stay at home and attend the local community college. This site is my only connection to people with any knowledge in this area, thank you!! If you’ll be in Michigan on the 25th, send me a message!

My D will be auditioning that day also. Let's collectively pray for good traveling weather! :-)

All right-at the risk of sounding like the overly involved parent (which I am), haas anyone had a response to The Jan 25 audition? We have read of one or two rejection letters in the mail but there has been no status change on the wolverine access and certainly no mail. My S was told three weeks but it is four tomorrow-should we call and check with admissions that nothing has been overlooked?

jacksdad - on the facebook group for MT class of 2012 (basically a bunch of us who are doing/just finished auditioned), there have been quite a few kids from that date who have posted that they have not received anything, nor has their status changed on Wolverine Access. Also, at my audition (at Chicago Unifieds), they indicated it would be more like 4-5 weeks until we heard... maybe someone misspoke at yours?

I found the glossy brochure that was in the student packet at the Jan 25th audition. It says written notification will be sent within 4-5 weeks of a student's file being complete. Under that they list all the things the school has to have for the student file with an indication that if you don't have SAT scores or transcripts or some other required paperwork, the student's notification could be delayed further. I don't remember hearing that part at the general meeting on audition day, but I do remember the 4-5 weeks notification schedule.

FWIW, at the Feb. 8 on campus audition, we were told to expect to wait four to five weeks for the kids to hear. I am confused as to why other paperwork such as SATs and such would be an issue, as Michigan clears all candidates on the basis of those scores, transcripts, recommendations and such in order TO audition. So one would presume that all paperwork of that kind would already be in BEFORE the student auditioned, right?

I know our hs just sent out first semester grades early this month, since our first semester doesn't end until mid-January. That's the only paperwork I can think of that might be needed, but not yet received.

I know that the written paperwork says notification will be made in 4-5 weeks, but along with jacksdad, I heard the dean of admissions say in the parent information meeting that it would probably be within 3-4 weeks.

My guess is that since they had such a huge number of auditions starting with the Jan 25th date, Feb 1st on campus, then the Unifieds, and then another audition date on campus the following week, they may be lumping all those decisions together?? Who knows. I just know that when you "hear" and are anxiously anticipating a 3-4 week wait, once you start into the 5th week, it seems like forever!

If anyone from any of those dates gets any news, or sees a status change on the Wolverine Access, please the rest of us know! We'll be glad to at least know news may be on its way.

We know someone who was got his acceptance about two weeks go.

Was it from the January 25th date?

I auditioned in Michigan on January 25th and I received my rejection about a week ago. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear!!

twiff: I sent you an email.
